More than anything that set was full of lazy jokes. Shows he really hasn’t made a shred of effort to reflect on why he’s in his current situation.

Yes, comedy always works best when you are punching down. That’s the saying, right? So, go ahead and dump on trans people and teenagers who watched their classmates get murdered. And then go on about how you were so much more interesting at their age because you...did drugs. Instead of watching your friends get mowed down by an assault rifle. Then go on about how stupid the pronoun thing is, because that doesn’t at all make you seem old and out of touch. Kids today! He is just the worst offender in a pile of comedians who became bazillonaires through one brand of comedy, and are now pissed that no one finds them funny any more and blames the audience. Somewhere after the millions started rolling in they forgot that of all forms of entertainment, comedy has the shortest shelf life. Andy Richter actually had a good thread about this today on Twitter. As he pointed out, look at SNL skits from a decade ago and you see the comedy has faded. You have to adapt or fade away. Louis seems unable/unwilling to adapt with his comedy (and blames the audience), and doesn’t see that what he did was wrong, so he’s all, “I apologized! What more do these assholes want? I lost millions because of those sensitive little snowflakes!” He got away with masterbating in front of women and then ruining careers to protect himself for so long he was indignant over having to finally pay a price for his actions. Well, enjoy your MAGA hat audience, dude. And watch yourself fade into obscurity and become a joke yourself. |

Pretty much have nothing to add here. It would be one thing if he reflected and changed, but instead he's just showing his true colors of "I'm a dick".

Memes picking on the Parkland kids are popular in the world of Trumpites. No way that's a coincidence. He really is targeting that audience, which means he's desperate, which means he's miserable, which is exactly what I would want his unapologetic ass to feel. Good. Punishment comes in all different forms and he's living with his unique pain.

He’s definitely playing to the right wing crowd who think #metoo has gone too far and everyone else are all special snowflakes....
He’s just another old, angry, white dude who is bitter that he got caught so he’s just going to rage against everyone because he’s mad at the world rather than feeling any type of remorse for his behaviour. Clearly his year away did nothing but fuel his resentment at how poorly he thinks he’s been treated.
I’ll be glad to see him fade off into the total obscurity that he deserves...

It really makes me wonder how many seemingly liberal, rational,"woke" folks are one bad decision/career downturn from going full MAGA. Once you are rich/successful and hit a certain level of fame and income, you'll do anything to hold onto that perch. Ethics go out the window as long as the money rolls in.  I’m reminded of the “I would’ve voted for Obama for a third time” people from Get Out. Being a vocal liberal doesn’t automatically make you a good or ethical person. His remark about no one having a worse year than him. OMG the unmitigated gall. I think the Parkland students and parents probably could speak about having a horrible year. |

They have (Parkland kids, and parents). Several responses were posted from parents of murdered children, of kids who saw their friends murdered . I do not know how Louis can actually have gone so low. It's really embarrassing. What's next, jokes about paraplegic rape survivors? Or maybe children who have been kidnapped and raped/tortured. I mean- the comedy potentials are endless! :/

I watched a documentary on Netflix about Holocaust humor.
Mel Brooks says he can't joke about that, even as out of bounds as his humor has gone over his career. But he says Sarah Silverman can. The important thing is, if you're gonna go there, it fucking well better be FUNNY.
Louis' recent work is decidedly NOT.
