I loved it too, thanks Kostgard. As a Gen Xer, I love millennials and think their energy and individualism is going to save us all. And as for CK, count me amongst those shocked by how quickly he MAGAed out when put under pressure. Like an ugly, bigoted diamond.

I loved it too, thanks Kostgard. As a Gen Xer, I love millennials and think their energy and individualism is going to save us all. And as for CK, count me amongst those shocked by how quickly he MAGAed out when put under pressure. Like an ugly, bigoted diamond. I’m a Gen Xer too, and one who agrees that the kids are alright. The part where he said if their idea of rebellion is making sure the people society has historically shat upon have dignity, then he’s all for it sums it up. And no, greed is not good. Whether it’s Louis making jokes about the Parkland kids trying to make a change so others won’t die and people supporting those who want to use different pronouns/have “non-traditional” gender expressions or other comedians bitching about how kids today are too PC, it’s basically the same thing as calling liberals “snowflakes” - it’s about undermining empathy. Making empathy seem like a symptom of weakness, or stupid. The structure the Twitter thread talks about that Louis and others depend on and believe in relies on their ability to step on the necks of others without people getting upset or feeling bad about it. This new generation is changing that. Louis depended on a structure that allowed him to whip it out whenever he wanted and not pay a price because he’s a wealthy white male. But then people stood up and refused to let him get away with it, and now he’s pissed because that’s not how it’s supposed to work. He ran to the MAGA hats because they still believe in that structure. It’s going to fail sooner or later (change is inevitable), but they will fight for it, and that’s why we’re in the middle of this dumpster fire where 35-40% of the country steadfastly support a president so clearly not cut out for the job solely because he is practically that structure they depend upon made flesh (the fact that he’s the ultimate example of that structure is also why Trump seems ridiculous to everyone else).

What an excellent manipulator he is.
hey. I understand you’re upset. I'm acknowledging your feelings.
I never swore that I was clean. I'm a truthful person, it's your fault you didn't listen properly.
I told you I may or may not have given this to you. You can't be mad at me since we're not sure what happened. Also, keep in mind that you can't prove anything.
I’m sorry if I did. I just apologized because I'm a good guy, but in the conditional tense in case this goes to court.
If you gave it to me, it’s okay. You are probably the one who did something wrong here and I'm probably the victim, but I'm willing to forgive you because I'm a good guy. If you don't forgive me in kind, that makes you a not-good person. Also, remember that I could make a case against you too if I want.
We all share the current human bloodstream, which includes this kind of stuff. I'm distracting you with uninformed, pseudo-scientific drivel. My bold mansplaining is something you and my other fans find attractive about me.
I should have worn a condom, you should have made me I made a mistake, but more importantly, you made the bigger mistake by not stopping me from making my mistake.
we should have a lot of things. we are human. The bad things I do aren't actually bad because they are things everybody does.
Our generation has this stuff. the next generation will all be inocculated and will have sex with electric glass penises and digital vaginas and they’ll get software viruses instead. More drivel that sounds like it comes from my comedy act, since as you know, I am a brilliant comedian.
It’s part of life.” In closing, not my fault.

What a grody piece of shit. How did he hide it all those years? It must actually be a relief for him to finally be able to just relax and wallow in his racist, misogynistic filth instead of working to uphold the veneer of decency.

CW: sexual harassment I really hate to bump up the thread for this POS, but he won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album last month.Yes, one of his victims is on record as not being happy about this. The fact that Bo Burnham wasn’t nominated (admittedly due to the the Grammy rules) for his excellent special Inside, and yet they let someone who did horrible things win. So, any concerns about him being censored, canceled, silenced, deplatformed, elimination of his work, etc. are moot. And people wonder why victims of traumatic events don’t talk or report them. Ugh! ETA: To add some levity, his photo on his Grammy page looks shady AF, like he’s just contemplating reoffending again!

I'll admit it - I'm one who does not understand the outrage over his winning a Grammy. The Grammys are not awarded for great citizenship. They are awarded for excellence in recording. Nothing about having a Grammy affirms a person is a good person.
Also disagree that getting a Grammy means he has not been cancelled in any fashion. Before his harassing ways were made public he was selling out huge venues including MSG. Now, he's working clubs a little bit and releasing albums. I do not point that out implying it's a bad thing or that he doesn't deserve it. I'm simply saying that when you go from MSG to little clubs and albums, you're career has been deeply impacted and hurt.
