"Black people will never be jealous of someone being auctioned off. Hashtag American history." God, Sterling K. Brown is a gift from the acting gods. Also, I love how Beth knows "cool dad" is really just a big geek and tries to dissuade him from busting him out. I loved that moment between Kevin and Randall so much. I actually liked Toby today, mainly because he finally shaved that "curly q" that was on his forehead. Bless you. I felt similarly and felt extremely shallow. It's nice to know I'm not alone. Although I didn't like him, I just found him tolerable. I don't want Kevin to be an addict, I just don't. I hope they can wrap that storyline up quickly. Intervention where Beth is awesome and Mandy Moore pulls the heartstrings. Kevin gets help. Move on. I realize addiction is more complicated than that, I just think it's a writing misstep. There's enough drama already.

^ True. So many shows suffer from trying to cram in TOO MUCH. It would be better and MUCH more realistic to make the addiction thing a "slow burn," if you will. People don't normally go from totally fine to full-blown addict overnight. There is typically a period of functioning addict in there.
I continue to have complaints about Kate's story line. But at least a pregnancy hopefully won't center ONLY around her weight.

I hate to say it, but this show is boring me. If it wasn’t for Randall and Beth (#RelationshipGoals), and the ability to fast forward with my DVR, I would have thrown in the towel already. Something needs to happen, some forward momentum, in the rest of the main casts’ storylines ‘cause so far this season has been a snooze-fest.

I enjoyed the Halloween episode (flashbacks are Toby free!), and I cried when Rebecca went to meet Randall and later her granddaughter. I'm not wild about the current timeline plots this season, but I'm still invested in the characters and enjoying the show.

So many Big Life Issues in one episode. This one was even more emotional than normal for this show! Smiling through tears right now!

My favorite scene from last night was the realization that Randall saved William from going back on heroin when he found him in the pilot. Really, any time Ron Cephas Jones is on my screen, it's a good scene, but that one activated the tear ducts.

Totally! He saved Randall and then Randall saved him. That was a beautiful scene.
I don't know about this Toby and Kate situation. She seems weirdly impulsive.

Randall's reply to the question on if he was married to a white woman slayed me. "I wake up every day to a headscarf and coconut oil. I'm married to a black queen!"

I've never been to a therapy session but that session felt so real and oh so uncomfortable, so awkward. I agreed with everyone during the session, no one was really wrong in the situation. I also wanted to yell at all of them "Most people do not listen with the intent to understand, but with the intent to reply!"
And I laughed when Randall wanted to make it clear that he was the favorite.

I wasn't that interested in the NBT (New Big Three) hanging out at the bar. I just wanted more family therapy! That was intense!
