The therapy session was intense. I also liked when Randall said they all have different perceptions of childhood events and how it would be great to have a videotape to refer back to (I totally remember Warner Wolf and how he always said that!).
Beth's "The others? What are we, on Lost?" cracked me up.

Beth's "The others? What are we, on Lost?" cracked me up. Beth gets a lot of great one-liners. I also loved "That's some white people level of repression" to Randall saying that he would hold his tongue and "Let's go before they change their mind" when The New Big Three were dismissed from the therapy session.

I'm beginning to wonder if we've been getting some "unreliable narrating" flashbacks, and that maybe Jack might have had some more faults than "just" being an addict. He certainly catered to his kids, and didn't always take into account his wife's feelings (like this camping trip.) But are we going to see some character assassination of Jack in the coming episodes?
On the other hand, my Mother died young, when she was 49, and I was 27, and no matter what age, that affects you and the dynamics of the family. It has certainly affected the past 26 years among my siblings and our Father and our StepMother. Family is the most important thing, but it's a messy thing.

I am so interested in finding out how Rebecca and Miguel ended up together. It seems she was single for a long time before marrying him, at least until Randall had his oldest daughter.

Finally, some Real Talk(tm) out of Kevin! That was probably the best episode so far for me. It revealed SO MUCH more of who they really are.

As Rebecca said one time, her husband wasnt perfect but he was pretty dam close. Add to the fact that even Miguel said something like Jack is the best man we'll all ever know.

I seem to be in the minority, as I wanted to reach through my screen and punch Kevin. I wish Randall or Rebecca would have brought up how cruel he was to Randall for years, since that could have played a part in Rebecca being so close to him (someone had to make him feel wanted and part of the family). I haven't been enjoying the show as much this year, and this was just more of the same for me. I'm not sure I'll stick with it the whole season, as Randall is the only one of the three kids I really like.

I get where he is coming from, but I understand everyone else's perspective too...thank god I didn't have to take sides. Rebecca really resonated with me because while we do love all our kids the same, some of their personalities do make it easier to do than others.

Who is going to watch the next episode of This Is Us with me? It's THE episode! I'm going to need a brand new box of Kleenex and someone to hold me during the episode. I may just end up watching the entire episode through my tears. I'm going to be a mess during this episode.
(I still say he dies trying to save the dog)

So, we're finally going to learn what happened, what they have made us keep guessing for almost 2 seasons now, the event that has clue and misleads and red herrings, and the event that has ripped this family apart...
...after the Super Bowl?!?!?!
Is that really the "entertainment" to watch after BBQ and pitchers of Margaritas and, I guess, Clam Chowder and Cheesesteak this year?!?!? I'm just trying to picture how that is going to go over at the party I will be at.
This is going to be tough to watch. My brother in law is also recovering (hence the NA Craft beer company I posted on another thread), and I realize that he, too, needs to keep busy. Always gotta be doing something. This is not going to be easy to watch at all.
