And, ah, some insight into Jack's death. Looks like the Big 3 were still teenagers when it happened and the show seems to want to tie Kate's weight into his death. Before that she was a chubby kid/teenager, but not morbidly obese.

Horse dude was a jerk, but I think Kate needs to deal with her issues before she can truly be happy in a relationship. Even with Toby.

there's a fan theory that jack died on 9/11. I do think it was an accident of some kind.

When they reveal how Jack died I'm going to have to take a week off work to recover. And I'm hoping William has a miracle and goes into remission. I know it's unlikely, but come on writers, make it happen!

I still have to catch up on a few episodes but didn't Kevin say in an early episode that he was 15 when his dad died? And the trio is 36 now? Or are they younger? Because if they are 36 years old, then the theory above wouldn't fit timeline-wise, no?

He didn't say it, but it was implied by his "yeah, 15...15 is rough" comment about a kid losing his dad at that age. I don't think I'm buying that theory, re Jack's death. Kind of hope the show doesn't go there as, tbh, it doesn't need to.

So the horse whisperer's (heh) name is Duke. I'm thinking that place out to have rules against his type of fraternization with the guests. They're treating him like he's so insightful, reaching into the real Kate, but I'm just seeing pushy creepster who shouldn't have access to vulnerable people who are likely to frequent that kind of camp.
I get Kate's annoyance with Toby and her exercise class. I guess he means well but she had a cathartic moment in that class and like me I'd be pissed if some doofus came in and turned it into a joke. At least Toby somewhat understands his potential to derail her progress and backed off somewhat. Too bad his later intrusion was motivated by suspicion/jealously rather than genuine connection with Kate's journey.

Not to distract from your post, which I will consider when I get to catch up on the most recent episode. BUT. I just realized that Jack, especially Jack's mustache, looks a little like Hi from Raising Arizona and now I will never be able to unsee that.

Oh Toby, I want to like you, but you make it so hard! And I know I should like him, his characteristics tell me that I should like him, but I just don't. His immaturity during one of the classes just really bothered me. And I honestly think their relationship is doomed, there doesn't seem to be much communication between the two. They're going to need to figure out how to support and communicate with each other.

Jack will probably be the reason I never get married, I'll keep looking for someone like him... Each episode, he seems to outdo himself.
