Jack will probably be the reason I never get married, I'll keep looking for someone like him... Each episode, he seems to outdo himself.

I know! /Monica Where DO these guys hang out? Because I can't find that place either.


It doesn't help that Duke is labeled under Hot Bear (Image NquiteSFW), which while technically Toby is also a Bear, but would not be as, um, high up in the Hot department. Is that shallow, since I started with the above section first?

Well they definitely don't hang out in the Pasadena/LA area. GRRRRR... and I never knew "hot bear" was a thing. The things I learn from this board, lol.

Everything Jack does that is great makes it all the more heartbreaking knowing that we keep getting closer to,when he dies. I'm assuming his death will occur in the season finale.

Why does Kate only get fat boyfriends? It bugs me that her love interests are big guys. It also bugs me that they're both so pushy, and we're supposed to find it charming and romantic.

Don't you know that fat people only date other fats? When you're fat, that's your ONLY trait, you see. I know, it CAN be tempting to regard fatties as just as multidimensional as regulars, but no. Fortunately, TIU is here to disabuse you of that idea.

So, anyway, I might be getting disillusioned on this show ... I love all the other story lines, but Kate's is irritating the shit out of me!

I hope this ends with Kate deciding to dump both Toby and Duke and just work on herself. We know she has issues. She's not ready for a relationship and neither of the guys interested are healthy partners for her.

I'm so worried about Randall. He's cracking under the strain.

Kevin's story is the one boring me to tears. I liked him better when he was working on the play and breaking out of his comfort zone. I'm not interested in his marriage. Although I did like seeing Marla Gibbs and "arent you the Manny?" Will always be good for a laugh.

I'm afraid they are setting us up for a big Jack downfall. No one can be that perfect!

Same. They're really drilling down on the "Jack is perfect" thing. It feels like pretty heavy foreshadowing, so I presume he's going to have a major fall from grace. I wonder if he cheats with Miguel's soon-to-be ex.

Oh, I don't want Jack to leave us with bad feelings about him! I feel like that would be such a dirty trick from the writers after making us love him so much!

I do wonder how Miguel woos Rebecca. They seem OK together but we haven't seen a lot of emotion. And the kids don't seem too fond of him whereas if Jack had cheated on their mom, or otherwise hurt the family, seems like they are old enough to accept a trusted family friend as thei mom's partner...? Easy to say, I guess!

Re: Sofie and Kevin, i suspect Kevin just kinda wants her because he can't have her, although I think he believes he loves her.

Poor Randall, about to lose his second dad! I will miss him.

I get what you're saying, but I feel that this storyline is to illustrate that Kate has this mindset, that fat guys are "all she can get." I am curious to see where it goes.

I hope she kicks Duke to the curb. Camp employee harassing a guest? Nice. I kinda like Toby but he is too much sometimes.

Rebecca and Jack and Randall's wife are my consistent favorites.

The only way I'll be okay with Toby is if it turns into a storyline about emotional abuse, as it seems to me that he's walking that line. I liked the character okay when the show started, but he's annoyed me a lot starting with the football watching episode. He's so damn pushy and then he blames Kate any time she stands up for herself. For example, in last week's episode when he got all pissy when she got mad at him for screwing around in class, and he flipped it to blaming her for leaving him in New York, ignoring the fact that she had never asked him to come to New York in the first place, and a big reason she'd moved east was to focus on her own health (and weight loss as it relates to that). As for Duke, she should have reported him and gotten his ass fired. I'm curious to see what they do with that tonight, as I can't imagine that anyone watching likes him at all.
