Europe is breaking heat records at the moment ( Portugal hit 47 Celsius in the last day or so, London to hit 40s too ) and I’m very much appreciating the fact I’m on an island on the edge of the continent but it’s likely we are going to break a heat record of our own tmrw. I’ve water bottles freezing in the freezer for me and the cat, it’s only a day or 2 for my little corner but it’s been hot beyond normal hot for Europe for longer than is comfortable and continues to be. These temps might sound all ok for those in areas used to them We are not ( but I guess we need to be ) our homes are built to keep us warm so zero aircon I not sure what our highest ever temp was but I’ve heard 33 Celsius mentioned it was 29 today in many areas. Me, I’ll be in closest my freezer aisle for a day or two. Also someone should buy all Irelands Aldi supply of their Strawberry cheesecake Ice cream to stop me from consuming it Daily!! I will be moaning about rain again as soon as next week tho

You can then drape them around you neck (for that purpose, shape into a rolled-up U before freezing) or over your head or feet (just focusing on keeping your head and feet cool can help a lot).

Even just keeping a wet bandana or neckerchief in the fridge will help. Or be like Marilyn Monroe in "The Seven-Year Itch" and keep your undies in the icebox. Stay cool!

In fairness I am lucky to be on edge of the continent and on a small island. While this turned out ok for the passengers on this train in Spain It looks completely terrifying.Thank you for the tips tho much appreciated. Edit 33.1 Celsius recorded in Dublin today just shy of the hottest ever 33.3 about 135 years ago

I live in Texas and we've been over 100F for 20 something days and going to reach 111 F (43 C) the next three days. I've lived here 25 years and I've never felt this beat down by the heat. I can't imagine what it's like in Europe and the UK right now. I'm sorry you're all going through this.
If you have a stationary fan, you can put a bowl of ice in front of it and just sit right there and let the cooler air blow on you.

Well, we are about to experience our first real Florida hurricane with Ian. I live in Fort Myers so a pretty close hit is looking likely. Currently planning to stay put unless things change drastically for the worse.
