Man, I'm glad I missed that in the credits.
But the movie was very good. It is nearly two and a half hours and it didn't feel like it at all. In fact, I wish we had more so we had more time to explore this world.
Gal Gadot was excellent. She carried the movie effortlessly. Chris Pine was also excellent. He has a couple emotional scenes where he hit it out of the park. He and Gal have excellent chemistry.
Surprisingly low on action. There are really just three big action sequences. But the movie doesn't need a ton. This is really and truly about the characters. And I really liked that the focus isn't on how "sexy" Diana is. She doesn't have a slinky/sexy fighting style. She's just powerful. People comment on her beauty, but no one is ogling her, despite her tiny outfit.
I left just wishing I got more. More Robin Wright. She was a badass. More Etta Candy. They sort of touch on the idea that she is a Suffragette and I wish we got to learn more about her. And I liked the crew that Steve recruits to go with them.
ETA: Fox News ran a story tonight about how they're concerned that this Wonder Woman isn't "American enough." Like...Wonder Woman is not from America. That's her whole origin story. She's a fictional character from a fictional island that is not in American waters. They are also upset that her outfit is red and blue with gold instead of red, white, and blue. I just...can't. I can't with these maniacs who are so xenophobic and terrified of everything that they got to throw a hissy fit about a comic book character not conforming to their idea of what is "American" enough. Just wait until they actually see the movie and flip out when WW doesn't even set a toe on American soil (movie is set in WWI, so of course they are in Europe). And they'll really love it when they see that the movie thinks things like war and the patriarchy suck. Or when the Native American character talks about how the white man took everything from his people. Or when a brown dude mentions that he dreams of being an actor but his skin is the wrong color. I suppose they can take solace in the fact that the second hero in this film is an American pilot. But he treated WW like an equal and didn't have her go make him a sandwich, so he's probably a cuck.
