Coffee guy's coffee was too hot and burned his mouth. That's what balanced getting the free coffee.
I was more thinking about the end scene and wondering Spoiler
{Spoiler}When everyone had to renounce their wish for the stone's spell to be broken- would that guy renounce his coffee? And if he didn't would it keep the spell from being all the way broken and thus saving the world.
