I hope they don’t go too nuts with the CGI fight scenes. I heard that Patty Jenkins said they did a lot of practical stunts for this film. This shot is cool as hell. I'm so excited for this. I love that Chris Pine is the basically playing the girlfriend role that so many actresses have had to endure in these action/super hero things! Steve Trevor can hold his own, but she's protecting him from bullets and that shot of them flying through the fireworks (in the invisible jet?) is akin to Superman flying Lois Lane around to impress her.

We are basically a Marvel movie family. The DC movies don’t do anything for us. Except Wonder Woman. I can’t wait!!

That’s good to hear. Practical stunts are the way to go. And that is a cool shot (though I think it’s Gadot’s stunt double. She’s a bit thicker than Gadot. Still, don’t care - as long as it is a person and not a computer doing the action scenes). And I love the shot of them flying through the fireworks. I heard that is supposed to be an experimental plane, invisible to radar, so...yeah. “Invisible” jet homage. I also noticed WW only has her lasso and gauntlets now. Apparently she sets aside her sword and shield because she’s all about peace. And on that note, I LOVE that the WW movies are basically pretending Batman v Superman (and possibly Justice League) just doesn’t exist. Heh. That’s the way to be. ETA: According to this, they actually brought in some Cirque de Soleil performers for some of the stunts.

LOVED the trailer. I am all for the full-on neon, synthy, 1980s vibe of the movie. That and how the replication of VHS image glitches are now a feature that is the signature of a time period, like making things sepia-toned for the 19th century.
That and it looks like part of it in DC, and set at the time when I lived there as a kid. The mall looked familiar, and its the Landmark, having one last hurrah before it gets torn down.

LOVED the trailer. They managed to get the 80s vibe without going too over the top. Gal looks badass and I'm kind of excited for the apparent villain Pedro Pascal as well.

Oh Landmark Mall—I spent many hours there in high school...and did not recognize it all. But yeah, while I grew up in NoVA, and live in DC as an adult, DC itself has always been my “home base”. My mom grew up here, and even when we were living elsewhere, we came here to visit 2-3 times/year—and they really got it dead on.

They used Cirque performers for stunt work in Mad Max: Fury Road. Guess it's a thing now.
My techie film friends (lighting, camera, etc) all say the same thing about Gal: "No bad angles on that woman. None." Basically you can shoot her from below straight up her nose in fluorescent overhead lighting and she will look great.
Not a Kristen Wiig fan but based on everything else I will hold my nose and dive in big time.

To splash around in the shallow end for a moment, I do love that even though she's absurdly beautiful, Gadot still looks like a human being. I love that she has an "11" between her brows. And even though she's playing an immortal demi-god, no one is CGI-ing that away. Again, she is really, really ridiculously good-looking, and the movie (and Patty Jenkins) are showing that "drop-dead gorgeous" doesn't necessarily mean "perfect and without flaw". Sort of like how in the first WW movie they left in a shot where her thigh jiggles.

Altho I do remember the London makeover scene where Steve slaps glasses on her and Etta's all "Glasses! Just the ticket! Now she's not the most beautiful woman in the world." And to really hang out in the shallow end there's this

Watched WW84, and I would say I was entertained. It’s not the best, but it isn’t terrible.
The first half is better than the last, I think. Chris Pine is still great at playing Steve, and Gal Gadot is still great as Diana. Actually, I think everyone is pretty good in it, it’s the script that’s “meh” for a big part of it. The MacGuffin is kinda stupid. There is the obligatory CGI battle at the end that looks like muddy crap. And actually, too much CGI and not enough Amazons. Robin Wright is so good in the small flashback we get that I’m pissed we don’t have an “Antiope” movie or an “Amazons of Themyscira” movie. Though, they shifted to the Amazons looking more like supermodels than athletes for some reason, which is annoying as crap.
There is a mid-credits scene that, though corny, I think is actually pretty great. And there’s a big ol’ clue about who shows up in it about 2/3 of the way through the movie that I can’t believe I missed, because I instantly realized what I missed once I saw the scene.
