Surprisingly low on action. There are really just three big action sequences. But the movie doesn't need a ton. This is really and truly about the characters. And I really liked that the focus isn't on how "sexy" Diana is. She doesn't have a slinky/sexy fighting style. She's just powerful. People comment on her beauty, but no one is ogling her, despite her tiny outfit. I left just wishing I got more. More Robin Wright. She was a badass. More Etta Candy. They sort of touch on the idea that she is a Suffragette and I wish we got to learn more about her. I 100% place the lack of sexualization of Diana on the female director. I kept waiting for the ass and/or tits shot to somehow prove her strength/fighting, but it never came. I also LOVED that there were moments where they showed that she could wipe the floor with Chris Pine if she wanted and HE knew it and was physically made aware of that. So rare/non-existent in movies. Overall, I enjoyed the movie, but I wanted 2 more hours of the Amazons. The Amazons fighting everyone invading their island. Robin Wright needs her own damn movie. I stand by my opinion that Gal Gadot is too slight, but this is a movie that needed to exist. It also needed a better trailer than it had, because the trailer wasn't representative at all.

That is so interesting (no sarcasm)! To me she was perfect. She is tall and you can tell she is strong but I liked that she wasn't Madonna style buff. Also, I'm sure it is me knowing she was in the Israeli army in real life, helping me to believe she can kick some ass. I think she is gorgeous but not a delicate flower.
She surprised me with her acting. I can't say I've seen her in anything other than this and she was great.
Chris Pine proves he is the best of all the Chrises. Chrisii ? Those eyes. My god.
Overall a great movie. My only gripe is at the end whenit got a little too CGI heavy. Other than that...no complaints. Nice origin story, great funny moments, serious where it needed to be, nice acting and great costumes.
Also where did they film where the Amazons lived? I want to go to there.

We saw Wonder Woman last night and I had to sleep on it before typing my thoughts because it was just that awesome. The fight scene between the Amazons and the Germans was one of the best that I have ever seen. Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman, Chris Pine is a dreamboat and Robin Wright is an action hero!
It was unexpectedly emotional for me and I felt silly tearing up so much in the theater, so I was happy to read how apparently this has been a widespread phenomenon because women are finally seeing an exceptional female super hero that represents them onscreen. The ending gutted me even though I had a feeling the storyline was headed that was. My daughter and I both cried. I am still thinking about it today.

This movie was amazing. I still get emotional thinking about WW's charge in No Man's Land. I still don't quite know why that scene in particular got me, but wow.
The whole cast was terrific, Gal Gadot carried the film beautifully, Chris Pine was great, and Robin Wright stole the damn show!! The ending veered into a few of the DC-isms I hate, but that's a quibble, the overall movie was so great I don't even care.

I loved it too. I bought the trio of Wonder Woman, Hippolyta and Antiope Barbies. Supposedly they were going to be for my goddaughter, but she is too young right now. So I will keep them for the time being.

I've seen it twice now. I can't wait to see it again! Borokat and Mutagen, I also was surprised at how emotional it was for me - it was almost an overwhelming feeling of, "Here she is! FINALLY!" I'd waited over 30 years for her. The first time you hear her theme music - in the Belgian village - I really lost it. Fantastic stuff. It's been said, but yes, more Amazons, please! I also loved her reaction to social mores. And ice cream. All the fish out of water stuff was an absolute delight.
Side note: I had also been supremely disappointed by Batman v Superman. Like, c'mon, DC! However, mr. cyclone and I watched the Ultimate Edition of BvS in preparation for WW, and it is so much better than the theatrical cut. SO MUCH BETTER. I highly recommend checking it out.

I have a girl crush on Gal now. (Gal crush?) She is breathtaking. I literally couldn't take my eyes off her. And I know what you mean about her charge into No Man's Land, mutagen. I kept thinking "YES. SHE'S GONNA SAVE THE DAY."
My only quibble was their casting of the Big Bad. Just didn't work for me.

My only quibble was their casting of the Big Bad. Just didn't work for me. I agree. Also, {Spoiler}I guess because I am an idiot/wasn't really thinking about the fact that this is a comic book movie, it didn't even occur to me for most of the movie that the big bad would ACTUALLY be Ares--I thought the climax would just be 'Diana learns a painful truth about human nature, the end.' My only quibble is that I think it would have been cool if some of the Amazons were built like weightlifters rather than fitspo models, and/or if they all had one breast digitally removed (although maybe that mythological detail didn't make it into the comics?) but those are minor things. I really, really enjoyed it.
