Wow! She looks amazing, and carries the dress off in a way few could. Everything is just right, the cut, the sparkle, the colors. It looks perfect but not contrived. Lurking celebs, please take note: Gal’s dress FITS. She radiates decency, inner beauty, and strength as well as appearing gorgeous.

She is so tall. Armie Hammer is about 6' 5" and she almost matched him on stage. I know she was wearing heels this time, but she is really statuesque.
I loved seeing her introduce herself to Mark Hamill during the theater stunt.
I am so happy she's our Wonder Woman, and I hope she gets some good roles outside of the DCEU movies that play to her strengths.

kateln, we could totally hang! I'm a woman engineer (why do I even have to say "woman engineer" ) who loves to hike, climb and kayak. I'm a workout junkie who loves HIIT and kickboxing and lifting weights. I'm also a fanatic baker, GBBO junkie who loves fashion and shoes, shoes and more shoes. I make my own jewelry and love to crochet and needlepoint. Love reading, especially mysteries (starting with Nancy Drew (all of them!) and Agatha Christie) and can do my own plumbing. The point is, let everyone enjoy the crafts and skills they enjoy. Who cares if it's girly or macho?

I think Gal's so pretty. I'm excited for Wonder Woman 1984! She's 5'10/178 cm at least according to her. Wonder Woman's height has varied in the past but she was originally 5'8 then 5'11, then 6'0 and now is 6'2. Fun fact: The tallest actress to ever portray Wonder Woman was Adrianne Palicki who is around 5'11.
I think the Western World's concept of "race" is so weird though. Gal is Asian. As is fellow Israelis Natalie Portman and the like. Israel is a country considered to be part of West Asia and her native language, Hebrew is an Asiatic language native to West Asia.
Gal was born and raised in an Asian country, she has citizenship to said West Asian country and speaks an Asiatic language. By those facts alone she is more "Asian" then my supposed "Asian" friends who have never set foot in Asia, only have American citizenship and only speak English. I've mentioned this before on other sites and and was greeted with sarcastic comments and "essay replies" on why I'm "wrong".

As for the "Asian" thing--I can't speak for Gal, but The Roomie was born in Tehran (which is West Asian)--and studied linguistics, he uses "Asian" as a technicality, but usually says that he's White/other in surveys as "Middle Eastern" usually isn't an option, and "Asian" usually refers to South/East Asia in those same surveys. I'm not sure what that says about him/his ideas of race--but it does kind of remind me of a story I heard once from a guy I used to know whose family is Indian, but he was raised in Connecticut. Basically, he was in an elevator with a Japanese friend and a white old lady, who both lived in the building with him. The Japanese friend had just finished a workout, and was going home to take a shower. As soon as the Japanese friend got off the elevator, the old lady turned to my Indian friend, to tell him "Oh my God those Asians smell so bad!!" not realizing that my friend was also Asian (not just a general POC).

Lynda Carter is tall too. She had a business meeting and I walked her to her car afterwards (I know!) And we were pretty much eye to eye. I'm just shy of 6ft. I love that wonder woman is tall.
Ethnicity is such a hot topic here in the states. People feel they can assign it to you based on their own preconceived notions.

This is always an interesting question, and I guess boils down to how Gal sees herself. She was born and raised in Israel, so she could claim that. But her family is descended from Eastern Europeans (I want to say largely Czech?), some were killed in the Holocaust, and her family fled to Israel about that time - does she feel a stronger pull in that direction? (Side note - I believe "Gadot" is actually a name her family adopted after moving to Israel and isn't their original name). The US will probably always see her as a white lady, and that's it. But she is gorgeous. I don't know if I love the new WW84 outfit, but I love the teaser poster they released.

I had no idea Israel was considered West Asian. Learn something new every day.
I'm excited about the new WW. I really hope it exceeds my expectations.
