Lynda Carter is tall too. She had a business meeting and I walked her to her car afterwards (I know!) And we were pretty much eye to eye. I'm just shy of 6ft. I love that wonder woman is tall. Ethnicity is such a hot topic here in the states. People feel they can assign it to you based on their own preconceived notions. I've seen her around town a couple of times (she lives in Bethesda) and yeah, I'm not short (about 5'7) and she made me feel very short.

I must have missed this, but what started the discussion of Gadot and ethnicity? Is there a casting issue? Ethnicity is a topic I’ve researched, and what I find interesting about it is how highly contextualized, unstable, and malleable it is, especially in multiethnic nation states.

I thought I had missed my chance to see her at my apparently go-to spot for celebs (Disneyland), but then she appeared on a second outing there and she looks gorgeous in person, too. She looked just casual and blended in, but still so striking. I've always LOVED that she owns her heritage and has such a fun, fighting spirit. Knowing that she can really kick ass and take names makes her all that more awesome to have her play the role of Wonder Woman.

I adore this woman. I think part of it is that she plays my absolute favorite fictional creature of all time (Wonder Woman) and part of it is that she always comes across as sweet, unpretentious, and down to earth in interviews. Her non-American accent also makes her adorable, in my opinion. I hope that she never ever gets herself into any kind of scandal or showbiz expose or whatnot that somehow makes her come off as conceited or selfish, because my heart will break if that happens.

I had no idea Israel was considered West Asian. Learn something new every day. I'm excited about the new WW. I really hope it exceeds my expectations. Wait, what? Since when is Israel considered West Asian. I'm so confused.

Technically, it is, as it is on the edge of the continent of Asia. But I've never heard it as being called anything other than Middle Eastern, as far as I know that is how Israelis describe themselves. One country that borders it is Egypt, so it is also very close to Africa.

Anyone else think Gal would make a marvelous Anne Boleyn?

Not Headly?
Hedy Lamarr invented a guidance system for torpedoes during WWII. That technology is the basis for modern day Bluetooth.

She did some amazing stuff. I hope they do her justice with this limited series.
