I seem to recall reading that the Hinkley business was seriously traumatic to her (I know, duh!). Can you imagine having the President of the United States shot and having the perpetrator telling the world that YOU were the reason he did it? I've heard that she (understandably) never got over it and publicity of any kind scares her. So you've got to hand it to her that she can put herself out there at all. I think for awhile she just wanted to crawl under a rock and never be seen again. I'm surprised to hear that she's talked about it at all, because I know at one point the subject was completely off-limits.

I really like her too, she's one of the few respectable actors in hollywood.

Does she ever do magazine covers or go on red carpets pronouncing that's she's wearing Prada/Gucci/whater famous designer? I don't really see her doing any of those things, which kind of highlights the fact that when she's doing press, its for work. So many celeberties blur the line between being famous because of their work, and just being famous.

I know that she's identified as being one of the key faces of Armani, so she obviously identifies who she's wearing at some point. But she normally does those things to promote a film ... she doesn't ever do it just to promote her name/face.

The only time I remember her making a sensation on the red carpet was when she wore the Armani jacket with nothing underneath. That's about it.

I think she is gorgeous too. She looks great for her age in that she looks like she takes care of herself and hasn't gone nuts with the botox.

I always thought she had a radiant, but naturally luminous beauty.

I read somewhere she is an exercise fanatic and that is how she went from being chubby at one point to keeping slim.

I believe she was supposed to direct him in a movie called Flora Plumb, with Claire Danes. But the movie was eventually canned because someone (maybe Crowe) got injured while making another movie. But since I couldn't find anything about this in imdb, I could have hallucinated this entire thing.

That reminds me of a quote from David Hyde Pierce, who said "My life is an open book, but that doesn't mean I'm going to read it to you." I think she's just living her life, but she isn't going to put it on display.

She is completely awesome and I, like others have said here, wish more celebs would follow suit and learn that you can be an actor without giving the details of your love life on Oprah or making sure that you appear in In Touch at least once a month.

Amen. JF's not only a great actress, but her normalcy makes me respect her even more. When it comes to JF, I only care about what she does onscreen, not whom she does offscreen.

No hallucination, Sheila. Russell dislocated (?) his shoulder before Flora Plum started shooting and the project got shelved. Jodie said in a recent interview she still hopes to do the picture but is not sure when or who will be in the cast.
