Ugh, laurenj, that is beyond twisted. I feel so sorry for the girl who was ambushed, but holy cow also for that woman's daughter who is going to be so messed up.
I think Lori has just had this perfect life, not A-list but reliable easy work, and not mega-rich but very, very comfortable. And having two perfect daughters at an LA-prestigious school was part of that, so just like having a household manager or concierge she saw this as how things are managed. Plus getting her daughters to access another level of influence - and it worked! Olivia Jade was on a 100,000,000 yacht when the news broke - that's waaaaay out of Aunt Becky's league.

I think Lori has just had this perfect life, not A-list but reliable easy work, and not mega-rich but very, very comfortable. The Giannullis are estimated to be worth approximately $100 million. They listed their house in Bel Air in 2017 for $35 million. That's not comfortable, that's definitely rich. I don't know what the strict definition of "mega rich" is but they probably qualify there too. I agree though that part of getting the girls into an expensive private college like USC was to have them socialize with other wealthy/wealthier people. |

Yes, Mossimo was basically Target retail for a zillion years. Wikipedia says they parted in 2017. I have a few Isaac Mizrahi pieces that I love and have held up well. Sparkly gold miniskirt, especially.

Things are looking better for Felicity and Lori. The first defendant was sentenced today (a coach, not a parent) and got 6 months of home confinement. The prosecution wanted 13 months in prison. Former Stanford Sailing Coach Dodges Prison Term. The caveat in this case is that the coach took $600,000 in donations from Singer and actually used the money to equip the sailing team and didn't pocket any of it. I think it bolsters Lori's argument that there was real donating going on. And for Felicity, who is only looking at 2-4 months in prison anyway, I think chances are excellent she'll be doing home confinement instead. |

She wouldn't be able to work. But her opportunities have fled anyway. I think for her that fallout will be long-term. Hallmark was her sweet spot, and she blew that. They're not going to pick her up again, and few other channels would consider her at this point. She's not a great actress- she's not terrible, but her range is limited and she ruined the image she portrayed for so long. |
