"Home confinement"?! Can we pleeeeeeeeeeeeease call it "House Arrest"? because Something Something Full House and "home confinement" sounds like they have the plague, or something. "House arrest" has a big ol' "fuck you, you common criminal" vibe.

Things are looking better for Felicity and Lori. The first defendant was sentenced today (a coach, not a parent) and got 6 months of home confinement. The prosecution wanted 13 months in prison. Former Stanford Sailing Coach Dodges Prison Term. The caveat in this case is that the coach took $600,000 in donations from Singer and actually used the money to equip the sailing team and didn't pocket any of it. I think it bolsters Lori's argument that there was real donating going on. And for Felicity, who is only looking at 2-4 months in prison anyway, I think chances are excellent she'll be doing home confinement instead. IANAL but I don't necessarily agree here. I think this guy got such a small sentence because he pleaded guilty. Lori is still fighting and pleading non guilty no? This dude avoided other charges stacked onto people like Lori because of the plea deal. I am not saying that she is going to be locked up for life, just that her situation is different from this case.

Agreed. She's decided to fight the charges, so she's not going to get a deal like Felicity or the other guy.

I am not saying that she is going to be locked up for life, just that her situation is different from this case. Oh yeah, they are different. Lori is going to be penalized for not pleading guilty. Also, the same judge is not sentencing all of the defendants, so it will still depend on the judge. This judge happens to be the one who presided over Felicity's hearing when she pled guilty and if Felicity gets her again for sentencing, I think there's a good chance the 2-4 months she's looking at will just be home confinement. If Lori is convicted, I don't expect her to get off with just Full House Arrest but I think there's a good chance the judge won't give her as much time as the prosecution wants, and will let her serve the last 6 months of her sentence at home.

I was shocked at how low key Lori Loughlin always seemed.
Tbh I never watched Fuller House, never saw her daughters YT channel and thought she kind of faded into obscurity until the college scandal thing and I found out her husband's loaded.

Well, they've got a court date of August 27th. And they each have lawyers from the same law firm who have released a statement: Baseless? Really? Um, you keep saying that, but I don't think you know what that means.( TM Inigo Montoya) These people really think they're innocent in all this which is why I hope they get a judge who sees right through them (and a jury, if that's how it goes) and slap them with some real jail time.

I mean, I agree with you, but I think a lot of people might not see the crime. A lot of people might see this (unfortunately) as the rich people version of fibbing on a resume, or making a donation and getting the lecture hall in the business college named after you, as well as maybe a few other favors. Additionally, research shows that wealthy people are treated better by juries.
