Just replace the whole dang alphabet with emojis. It's time. We're already drifting that way anyway. Kids can't read cursive anymore, why bother with letters? We'll just go back to hieroglyphs. LOL. This is true though.

Yeah, I mean the family is still loaded, but her career is going to take a massive hit from this. It also helped tank Olivia as well. Lori's not likely to end up back at Hallmark, and there are lots of actresses out there panting to fill her old slots. She's not wildly talented, and her image was a pretty white Christian mom figure, which she's ruined.

I continue to be outraged by the entitlement shown by Lori Loughlin. Felicity Huffman is behaving in a way befitting the seriousness of the situation. Lori seems pretty confident that she can just pay her way out of it, and since she's rolling in money, what kind of punishment is that? I don't know if everyone that Alabama prisons have made the news for their out-of-control violence and violation of prisoners' civil rights. Look at the images in this one from the NYT. That's what I thought about when I saw the pictures of Lori smugly smiling at her court appearance. The world of Alabama prisons is outside of her realm of possibility. Even if she serves time, I'm sure it'll be at some cushy minimum security place. But when I think about the people who are in these Alabama prisons--statistically black men are certain to be overrepresented, and how many of those people were born poor and never head the educational resources, family support, or opportunities to climb out of poverty--I get really mad that Lori Loughlin, who is a f*cking actress, can't even act contrite for committing a federal crime. She's a criminal. I think the real parallel to Alabama's prisons would be at the level of Lori's kids. The one on Instagram talks about how she likes to party. I wonder if she's done any illegal drugs? Not necessarily hard stuff, but stuff that's legal nevertheless. Because if she got caught with it, as a pretty, white, rich girl, I'm pretty sure she could get out of it with no problem. Black kid in a tough neighborhood? Definitely not. And black boys are targeted more, and therefore can rack up track records faster, and have their options for a normal life limited even faster than that, so the likelihood that they're going to wind up in a prison writing messages on the wall in their own blood is a distinct possibility whereas it's outside of the realm of possibility rich kids like Lori's. The Alabama prisons story really got to me because it's my state and, honestly, I doubt most people care because it concerns prisoners and they are viewed as not deserving of compassion and, heck, basic human rights.

I found this essay in the Atlantic on the college admissions scandal insightful and humorous. It's dead on, with delightful turns of phrase like: They Had It Coming

This bitch and her smugness after shelling out crazy money and making up fake athletic involvement for her kids and acting like it's no biggie. Her signing autographs, taking selfies, refusing to make a plea deal...and then reading this: ( Us WeeklyOh, you wanna [allegedly] take those odds with a trial, Aunt Becky? Do you really think the jury is going to go easy on you? This is an entitled, self-righteous family who think they can get what they want with $$$. Yeah, they're just going to love you and spare you prison time. Would this even be a trial in SoCal? Because it sounds like it would be in Boston since that's the source of the ring (or am I misunderstanding it?). You'd have a lot less friendly folks thinking you are a celeb and get special treatment.

The Feds win 95% of the time at trial. I don't think this case would fall into the 5%.
Per TMZ, Lori and her husband are in the 24-30 months sentencing range. They have been told that if they do not agree to a plea quickly, there will be additional charges added such as money laundering.
They should also count themselves lucky that their daughters are not being charged with anything. Unlike Felicity Huffman's kid, Lori's daughters participated in the crooked plan and I'm pretty sure Olivia Jade was 18 at the time.

Weird how these two women are playing it SO differently.

She doesn't seem to understand the level of trouble she is in. Taking a chance with the state? Sure, there's gotta be a screw up in the case by the LAPD somewhere. Couple that with a Hallmark fan on the jury and she's walking.
The feds? No way. They have evidence we haven't heard about yet.
She'll cry her eyes out at sentencing, but it will be too late.

I agree. Her smug, what-me-worry, everything-is-fine smile is really galling.
Maybe she can be on Orange is the New Black when she gets out.
