Word on the street here is downtown businesses in Milwaukee are not getting an increase in activity due to the RNC being in town. I saw photos of both the Third Street Market Hall and the Milwaukee Public Market and they looked like ghost towns and both of these places usually are packed. Granted, some food tents were put up for the RNC near the Fiserv Forum. But a lot of the delegates are going back to their hotels near the airport and the outer Milwaukee suburbs (total Trump areas) to eat.
And I'm not surprised about Grindr at all.

I'm wondering if there is fewer foot traffic is because of the shooting last week. Usually there is a boost for local business.

Reports are coming out that now Obama and Pelosi are trying to get Biden to step down. I don't know what else to say. His additional interviews he's been having are only making things look worse for him. I don't want to seem like I'm not supportive of Biden, but we're in a massive crisis here with Trump. If so many people (voters) are feeling the same and won't vote for Trump, but won't vote for Biden either...then we're screwed.
I've said it before, I just don't know if Harris would win even if voters are desperate to keep Trump out. Only because there may be enough people that are so sexist and racist enough that I don't think they would allow her to win. So what would be our other option if he does choose to step down?

Reports are coming out that now Obama and Pelosi are trying to get Biden to step down. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I mean, I flooove Obama but he hasn't always shown the best judgement when it comes to elections... remember that he did not disclose that Russians were interfering in 2016 because Mitch McConnell would have said mean things? I repeat what I said last week - is there even a mechanism to get a new name on the ballot at this point? Maybe Democratic leaders should look into this before continuing with the circular firing squad? Also - ALSO! Are they saying that Biden is too demented, or just that they don't think he can win? Because if it's the former, then Amendment 25 his ass right now. If it's the latter, then take off the fucking gloves and campaign like hell in all the swing states on what the Republicans plan to do if they're elected. Bring up the voters' concerns like inflation and taxes. (Every single person I have spoken to who is considering voting GOP says it's because both prices and their taxes are higher now then they were four years ago. Yes, they are. Tell the voters why!)

I’m fairly certain the calls they’re getting from constituents is to try to get him to step aside. Especially after the inclusion of Vance. Well I spent all day today making calls telling them I support Biden 100%. So I guarantee they're also getting calls from constituents in support of Biden. lol There are many people who don't agree with what they are doing to Biden and want him to continue. s there even a mechanism to get a new name on the ballot at this point? Oh come on now!! Jon Stewart said it could be done! That must be true right? I mean why would a rich entitled white guy lie to us?

I repeat what I said last week - is there even a mechanism to get a new name on the ballot at this point? Maybe Democratic leaders should look into this before continuing with the circular firing squad? I've seen nothing to indicate Dems are capable of amassing last-minute overwhelming support for a magical candidate that they will not simultaneously nitpick to death. But hey, they are very reliable on terrible messaging. For those who wished for an asteroid so many pages ago, there is a rather large one heading our way in 2029 that will pass closer than some of our satellites. It's supposed to miss us, but who knows.

Lou Dobbs just died. Trump had no problem being the first one to announce this on Social Media and send his condolences, but people at his rallies that died or critically injured? Who cares? He was the same age as him, too. I wish people would see his cognitive decline. They focus on Biden so much, but you've got him up on the stage of the RNC with his loser son, Jr. talking and he's SLEEPING in front of everyone. Sleepy Don with his 'My Pillow' attached to his ear. Are they saying that Biden is too demented, or just that they don't think he can win? I read that it was more about winning. That he just isn't carrying himself very well in these latest interviews (it's not just the debates at this point) and that he's not well-received. Even if they went with Kamala, who would be her running mate? Yes, they could get this done, but I'm telling you, we need STELLAR people to fill in these shoes if they actually do go through with it. That's what worries me.

It is absolutely possible to replace Biden, and not just because Jon Stewart says so. Honestly, there have to be mechanisms in place just because realities are people get sick, die, need to drop out. It makes no sense to have no ability to replace a candidate. If Biden or Trump all of a sudden died, fell into a coma, etc... do the people decrying it is impossible to change now because of ballots, do they think we would be forced to vote for a dead guy because... well... too late to change it now? Of course not. Because... it can be changed if it needs to be. (and no- if Biden died it would not just automatically go to Kamala on the ballots- there would be a process to select the new nominee- and the ballots would change). Heck, the DNC hasn't even happened yet so Biden is not officially on the ballot until he accepts the nomination in August. He's not even ON the ballot yet. Here are 2 articles that discuss what could happen. Note- neither of them were written in the last few weeks, so they aren't all about forcing Biden out and the sh%t show we've seen in the last few weeks... They show that there are, in fact, mechanisms because this question has been explored before: hereand hereYes, it would likely be messy. Yes, it's not ideal. But it is 100% possible.

They have until August 7th to find the magjkal candidate that will guarantee Dolt45’s defeat. That is the deadline to get on Ohio’s ballot in November.
You may say, “But, Rat, the convention isn’t until the 19th. How can this be?”
And the answer is, shockingly enough, Republican shenanigans.
You may followup with, “But, Rat, Gov Mike DeWine signed the bill extending the deadline until after the DNC. What gives?”
The answer, predictably, is once again, Republican shenanigans!
You see, the bill DeWine signed extending the deadline, doesn’t go into effect until 90 days after it was signed.
“But, Rat, that isn’t until September!”
Yep. The gerrymandered-all-to-fuck Republican legislature here apparently thinks the Dems are as stupid as their base. If the DNC take them at their word, and don’t do it by the 7th, they will inform them THEY MISSED THE DEADLINE THEY KNEW ABOUT MONTHS AGO.
Senator Sherrod Brown needs a democrat in the top slot to be on the ballot to encourage voter turnout. Peter Theil and Vlad are throwing metric fucktons of cash at Bernie Moreno’s campaign. If Sherrod loses, Ohio can kiss those IC chip and EV battery plants goodbye.
And as I drove home from the play Traffic and MissP are playing in the pit for, I encountered a construction zone, probably paid for by Biden’s infrastructure bill, and thought, “If Biden is no longer in office, what happens to talented and qualified peeps like Secretary Pete? Will the Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore ever be rebuilt if Trump wins?”
19 days, Majikal Candidate. Show thineself!
