I appreciate where you're coming from. But there's still the risk that Trump could be elected, and they we'd have Vance enabling him - a worse scenario than Pence was. Since an election is not a football game, I can' say I can celebrate this regardless of what it does to the tea leaf reading.

Vance was the conservative wunderkind who had everyone, including liberals, reading his book and praising him. He was against Trump and then turned on a dime. He'll mediate his rhetoric as needed to play a moderate, compassionate conservative during the election. He has the ability and the self-discipline.

The campaign sent an aerial photo of the venue to everyone who got tickets to the rally, with helpful labels. As Charlie says,

With all of this weirdness, the Trump gunman wore a Demolition Ranch T-shirt during the shooting. A shame because the Youtuber, Matt Carriker, is a veterinarian whose use to be on Vet Ranch, a channel I love.

The Vance pick for VP will definitely appeal to the MAGA base. The problem for Trump is that he needs to appeal to independents, and choosing Vance is not the way to do that.

This GOP convention will be a shitshow, a week full of gaslighting and Christian nationalist BS. They won’t win anyone over with that.
