Ok, is that one of those "We'll always love and respect each other because of the children" deals, or is he actually saying that they're staying together?

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that. There's definitely room for some Bill Clinton-style interpretation. When he says the rumor is unfounded, that could mean, "The woman I'm having an affair with isn't a 9/11 widow" or "The woman I'm having an affair with doesn't have red hair." Or maybe he's not having an affair, but they're still splitting up.

I think the way he phrased it leaves open the interpretation as "I'm not going to come right out and deny the affair so I'll make a reference to "ugly rumors", but Patti and I are staying married." Maybe the affair happened, but they've chosen to stay together.

I dislike her for no discernable reason. She might be perfectly nice, but ever since he dumped his first wife for her, she kinda makes my skin crawl.

Having said that, I really hope he hasn't run off with some other redhead. I want to imagine him being better than that.

Did anyone get his new album, "Magic"? I bought it yesterday and listened to it 4 times yesterday. I'd highly recommend it.

I got it and like it a lot. Radio Nowhere is on my workout playlist and the whole thing is really good. Now I"m just waiting for the big tour with the E-Street Band - Bruce and the ESB in concert are just the best!

His US tour is wrapping up (or has wrapped up) now. However, there are more US shows scheduled for Spring '08. I saw the show in the beginning of October—fabulous as ever.

It took a while, but Magic grew on me—and I like it a lot more than The Rising. I still kinda think that the original E Street Band sound is long gone–and has been since Tunnel of Love, so I guess I'll just have to kind of deal with that on my own.

"Mask" is running on cable, and I was reminded watching it that the real boy the film is based on, Rocky Dennis, was a yoooge Boss fan, like a real hard core fanatic who lived and breathed the music. So when they went to make the film, they approached Bruce about using a bunch of his songs. And he said no, would not let them. They ended up using some Bob Seger stuff, and every time I hear Bob Seger in the film I am reminded that Bruce would not let them license his stuff, and I always wondered why that would be. The movie is hardly exploitative, and was critically praised when it came out, if I remember correctly. I can think of far worse licensing offers than a pretty honest biopic of a severely deformed boy and his hard living mom. I was always curious why Bruce turned down that request. Seems sucky to me.
