My 60+-year-old ex-Navy dad watched The View every single day for Meredith. He had a gigantic crush on her. I mean, like, frightening. And when she took over Millionaire, he started watching that, too.

She's a step up from Katie. Star Jones would be a step up from Katie, IMO.

Maybe they were talking about Tony Whoever on GMA- they have Sam Champion now full time I hear. Maybe Al wanted to take over Katie's spot too. You never know. Then again, maybe Deborah Roberts wanted the role ? I personally just don't think they have found their footing yet together- maybe he and Anne feel left out by the MV/ML love.

I heard on some show today that the reason Meredith was offered this position and not Campbell Brown is that Campbell doesn't have kids and NBC was afraid that wouldn't appeal to viewers. WTF?? (She just got married.)

I thought she was terrible in this interview. She flubbed the opening while they were showing the movie clip and then she had that ridiculous Superman ending. I just don't see her has a good fit, but Matt must be loving it as she is second billing and so far knows her place.

Has anyone watched Meredith on the Today Show lately? The ratings have dropped double digits and she is annoying me with her horrid interviewing skills and endless sexual jokes. Katie acted like she was in heat sometimes too but she gave off a horny vibe which is less bothersome to me than Meredith's cool-mom act. Also, Al has become a bitter little toad and Ann has lost her mind. Case in point, here she is losing it over some athlete's homophobe remarks.

Al Roker is VERY tight friends with Star Jones. Star went to the Today show, and was interviewed by him, when she left the View. So.....Al does not like Meredith.

OK, I know it's wrong but I can kind of understand the laughter simply because that athlete sounds like a complete idiot. "I don't think it should be in the world or in the United States" Dumbass.

I always HATED Katie Couric with a hot burning intensity so I don't mind Meredith. She's not my favorite but she bugs me far less here than she did on The View.

I personally think they're all lousy interviewers. Katie would do this thing where she'd say the whole answer she wanted in the question like "Did it scare you when you were kidnapped because I would have been terrified. I bet you were terrified when you were shoved into the back of that windowless van" and interviewee must just go "Uh, yeah. I was scared"

Matt does these bizarre attack interviews but on the wrong people so he's always like "So you were kidnapped. Did it not occur to you that perhaps you should be out so late at night by yourself?"
