I say good for her for getting out of that festering shrewhole. I'd hire her in a heartbeat -- Lord knows if she could put up with The View for 9 years, she can put up with anything.

From what I understand, she's been very nuturing with her ill husband. If Richard passes, a caring, nuturing woman not made out of leftover wood from the soles of J.Crew shoes will be exactly what Matt needs.......

I love Meredith because she totally hit on Vincent D'Onofrio when he was on The View. Awesome.

She looks like the sanest of them all. Star and that dimwit of Elisabeth should have their airtime revoked and pay fines for all the stupidities they spout off. I hate The View, if I'm home I'd rather watch Ellen.

There's something about her that bugs me. I can't really explain it but I'll try. It bugs me that she got hired for 60 minutes and then complained that the men were mean to her. Which I'm sure they were but honestly I don't see how that could have been a surprise. None of them appear to be the most modern men in the world. And then I hate myself for getting mad at her for complaining about sexism which you totally should do. But I also wish she'd just sucked it up and done a kick ass job. But instead she went to The View to have a daily slumber party with the biggest bunch of morons on the planet.
And I also feel like doing Who Wants to Be A Millionaire syndicated is sort of demeaning for someone who could have been a brilliant journalist. It would be like if Anderson Cooper suddenly decided he'd be the new host of Wheel of Fortune.
But even with all that said, I still like her better than Katie with her nasty legs and frighteningly immobile forehead.

Anderson Cooper was the host of The Mole, though. And this was during is early journalistic career.
I don't think the View is going to survive without Meredith. She was the sane glue that held the crazy together.

She is the lesser of 5 evils, however, not too long ago, I recall she would not shut up about how she didn't wear underwear...ever. Babs must have put a stop to that. Haven't heard it in a while. Can't see Matt Lauer wanting to know that.

I understand the move, though. She had a family and a sick husband and who needs that shit? The View offered a more palatable option.

Personally, I think NBC is making a big mistake by hiring Meredith for the Today Show. Unless she has a complete change of heart and ceases all the tiresome references to sex, drinking and her lack of underwear, I can't see her being successful in her new job.
She strikes me as someone who suffers from the Peter Pan syndrome - she is 52 years old, yet she talks as if she is still a 20 year old college student. "Yeah, yeah, yeah" - I'd like to see Matt Lauer's face the first time she pulls that on him.
Still, she was the least offensive of The View panel and I think the show will tank once she leaves.
