He uses money to control his ex-wives/girlfriends, this is proven. He was making a million dollars an episode back then he was doing over 20 episodes a year, he has made a literal shit-ton of money - his net worth is estimated at $150M. And his children are due a lifestyle equivalent with his, that's the law. So yeah, I think 50K a month is way too low to be providing for those girls living in the neighborhood they live in and going to the schools they attend.
When people say she must be wasting money to spend $50K a month, I have to think they really don't have a clue as to how much stuff in those parts of L.A. cost.

Normally I would think a parent dying when a child is young would be a horrible thing, but...... since we aren't allowed to wish harm on a celeb I won't finish that thought. But are we allowed to wish good things on the children of shitty celeb? <evil grin> |

Their school tuition and housing is paid for separately, so that leaves $660,000 per year for food, clothing and other basic expenses for two children. Nowhere is that expensive. |

But the point isn't really how expensive the cost of living is as much as you don't want a situation where the kids are living in one house with the basic necessities of life and their other house is filled with eveything little whim they could possibly want. Because Charlie is just the asshat to take advantage of that disparity and turn the kids against the poor lazy good for nothing mom who doesn't give them the good stuff.
I think she deserves every penny of that just for putting up with Charlie on a day to day basis. While I question Denise's intelligence for ever getting involved with him - one thing I just can't fault her for is how hard she's worked at being a good mom under horrible conditions. She's constantly alternating between being a good co-parent with Charlie when he's sane, and protecting the girls when he goes off the deep end. Every dollar he gives her is a dollar he can't snort off a hooker. So I say, good on her. jmo.

I think I'd be spending some of that money on security--mostly to keep Charlie from showing up and scaring the kids.

How much is a security team a month? If you hire two guys a year full time that's probably about $200K a year, because you have to cover their labor and fringe costs, and even more if you are hiring them through a legitimate security company.
Then there is the costs that well-off kids have - lessons, parties & play-dates with other kids, costs the private school might ask parents to pay aside from basic tuition, kid's clothing and sports equipment, cars to drive them where they need to be and the insurance that go with those cars.... the list goes on. $600K a year whittles away very quickly under these circumstances.
