Nothing wrong with modeling. It won't be forever, and they are teenagers, right? Sounds like they are doing what a lot of people do: figuring out their calling in life at a young age.
They will be freer to choose their lives without the titles. I think in that respect, it's a good thing. It just could have been handled in a more organized manner.

HRH Prince Nikolai did an add promoting Raffles Hotels which references his title but he states he just wants to be known as “Nikolai”. I suppose without the fancy title he’s just not as appealing for future PR gigs….

Exactly, easy to say just call me Nikolai, but would Raffles want to hire him otherwise? I’m thinking not.

Nikolai is 23 and Felix is 20. There's absolutely nothing wrong with modelling but there has been some media controversy over their careers. Both started at the Danish Royal Military Academy before quickly washing out. It was allegedly that Joachim was keen for Nikolai to go over his son's personal preferences (which he acknowledged) but then 3 years later Felix did exactly the same thing and he was supposed to be "the sporty one" who wanted to go there and after the embarrassment of having to acknowledge that it wasn't the place for Nik. Then both are at business school but Nikolai especially spends much of his time modelling and missing classes. It's definitely not the end of the world to try 3/4 different things in quick succession as a teen and early 20s (and they don't have to worry about future prospects) but the fact that both did exactly the same thing is interesting. As for Fred and Mary, I don't read Danish so I can't comment on Danish sources but royal watching places on the internet seem to be split between "they're great" and "they're both nightmares in different ways." There is at least one forum dedicated to the latter view. Her engagement count is higher than his is which obviously leads to speculation. Her 50th birthday celebrations went on longer than his did which was curious. I tend to watch Daisy the most out of the DRF so I probably miss a lot. The DRF have weathered other family members going off the rails. Prince Henrik Sr had a major tantrum after the NYE ball of 2002 where his wife did not attend and his son the Crown Prince therefore took precedence over him. He then stormed off to his chateau at Cayx where his family had to fetch him back and awkwardly pose for photos. QM amended the precedence. He then spent a lot of time talking about why he should be King if his daughter in law was going to be Queen (Consort) not making the distinction that there's a reason why that is that is the opposite of being discriminatory towards men.

Prince Joachim & his second wife were interviewed by the press and were loudly wailing at the unfairness of the Queen’s decisions. Apparently their children are being bullied at school now with kids asking their daughter, “is it you who is no longer a Princess”. 🙄
Honestly the kids have no chance with spoilt, whiny parents like these. Somehow I don’t think complaining to the press is going to cause his mother to change her mind….

I was reading that. Wow, what a car crash. Their children asked what is our name now? Huh, your name is still your name. They’re raising their kids wrong if they think their name is Princess. Oh, and they were saying foreign media is all over it. Yeah, because you, your wife and your ex keep talking about it!
And evidently they live in Paris but they were basically told to leave Denmark. Forget H and M, this is some incredible stuff. (Asked to leave, it’s thought, so that the older brother had more of the spotlight on him.)

Joachim's claiming his children have been "harmed," his ex-wife says they've been "stripped of their identity." PU-LEEZE! The two oldest are off being fashion models and trading on their titles (I really doubt they'd be this big if they weren't Margrethe's grandchildren.) The younger kids haven't made it out of middle school. None of them had any royal duties or patronages anyway.

Hope the family can work this out privately.

It's a good statement. If Joachim and his family keep grumbling, they will come across as even more petty and entitled, and they're already doing a smashing job of that. Edited for spelling!
