When I go to the UK, I usually stay with my dear friend Sarah in London. She used to live near the Finchley Road Tube stop, and the first time I visited her at that address, she told me to look out the front window at a certain time in the morning. She told me that I would see Ewan walking his daughters to school. The next morning I did, and lo and behold, there was Ewan: he was wearing old scruffy clothes and a wool cap, just like you'd wear to run a quick errand. The most adorable part was that he and the girls were singing, very happily, at the top of their lungs. Even in his scruffy gear, he was totally luscious and quite handsome (and, of course, short). Dammit and I was just in London a few weeks ago. *sigh* I *heart* him - he's definitely very near the top of my To Do list. I've always liked him, but fell hard after Moulin Rouge. Right about the time he sang "Your Song." I was done. Then I saw The Pillow Book.............

Hello All, I'm not someone who follows Ewan like the rest of you, so I thought it odd that I dreamt of him last night. I had a dream that he was in my massage class. ( I graduated in 1998) and he and I went to an ice cream parlour together and then he came to see my apartment. It was one of those things where your so attracted and drawn to a guy and he just see's you as a friend? gah, that dream was sweet and painful at the same time! I always have dreams like that about Ewan-I'm still in college, and he's taking a class with me, and we're just friends, but we trade Star Wars books or something like that. I have had good dreams about Obi-Wan though. Obi-Wan's not taken.

Were you like me in your dreams and wishing he liked you more than just a friend? ;D

Yes! And at the same time, I felt guilty thinking, "oh crap, this guy is MARRIED!"

Really?
Do you think the rumours about him and Nicole Kidman are true?

Not from what I heard-he went fucking apeshit when someone suggested it. Plus, his family's always traveling with him when he's on the set-so unless they have an open marriage, I can't see how he'd pull it off.
Plus, Eve strikes me as the type who'd string him up by his balls if he tried.

What's the "A-List?" A tabloid type thing?
Yeah, I'm a little too obsessed, because if I learned that were true, it would devastate me. (Yes, I'm a little like the CTWS in that regard!). I just adore Ewan and to find out he's just another dirty cheater like Denzel Washington or Jude Law would really spoil my Ewan love.

This it?Yeah, I'd take that with a huge grain of salt. Seems to believe the Ewan/Nicole thing, suggesting her miscarriage was his. (Although I'd PAY to watch him and Jude Law, if that were true.) Also states that Audrey Hepburn was anorexic, which anyone who's ever read anything about Audrey knows was not true. (Try severe malnutrition and colitis during WWII, training as a ballet dancer, good genes and the fact that she was a smoker). And that she had an affair with Greg Peck.

I think much of the infidelity talk comes from early in his marriage when he still spent a great deal of time down the pub posing with fans and drinking with everyone and anyone. I read an interview with him where he commented on not quite having his priorities straight early in the relationship; he wasn't spending enough time at home. But he also said he sort of woke up and realized where he needed to be.
I also think the rather playful, flirty way he seems to treat everyone, male and female, plays into the cheating theory as well.
He apparently got upset on Letterman's show when Dave just flat out asked him if the rumors about an affair with Nicole were true. And in the companion novel to Long Way Round, he gets very insulted after some rancher that he and Charley encounter suggests that they hook up with some girls at a bar.
Same here. One of the things I loved about LWR, were his constant comments about his wife and children, missing them, being reminded of them. He just seems like a good person.

Yep. I mean, it's possible there was something maybe in the first years of their marriage, when he was still drinking, but not nowadays. Interview with Marie Claire magazineInterview with Eve McGregor in You magazineBTW, does he consider himself an alcoholic, or does he just not drink anymore? I know he considers himself to have had a drinking problem in the past, so now he won't touch the stuff. Yeah, part of his charm is that he's a huge family man. I know, it's weird-part of the reason I love him so much is that he is very attentive to his wife. Ha!
