Is it cruel that I enjoy it when Will Ferrell's characters cry?

He starts out mildly wailing that it gets higher and higher pitched until he's crying with the reckless abandon of a 2 year old. It never fails to make me hysterical.

He certainly is committed when he plays a character.

This was on last night! E! showed Part 2 of Will Ferrell's funniest moments on SNL. You gotta love a guy who'd parade around in that half-shirt and thong and not even break into laughter, unlike Horatio Sans who couldn't stop laughing the entire time.

I immediately thought of all my fellow Will Ferrell fans here on this thread during the E! SNL last night! They started off with Red Ships of Spain ("It was my most upsetting night ever at the theater" - John Smith, New York Times. "I suppose it never occurred to Mr. Goulet that he was doing a romantic scene with his own daughter" - Sheila Thomas, American Theater Review).

And as if I didn't love him enough as Robert Goulet, then they did the Robert Goulet Ring Tones commercial! "Youuuur phooone is riiiiinnnngiiing, da-da-dee-baa-dooo...."

I yelled that the other night when I tripped over the dog. That was a funny sketch.

I forgot about the Altadena Middle School teachers! Those were good too. I like the one that, I think, is on SNL Best of Will Ferrell vol. 1, in which Marty sings (a la Eminem in "Stan")

Dear Slim, My name is Marty. I'm writing to you 'cause I don't like to party. If you take drugs, I think you're a weiner! I can't do drugs, I'm a teacher at Altadena!

I think that was it, anyway. And what wouldn't I give for a Robert Goulet ringtone!?

One of my favorite sketches was one where he was a doctor who lost a couple's baby. The sketch was so bizarre, and so random, that it's absolutely hysterical.

I still say, "Son of a Vondruke!" and "A palomino... why, they're beautiful!" like, 700 times a day.

I love that sketch! It's so underrated. I mean, c'mon! A guy named Dr. Poop that does the robot! It gets no better!

He was awesome in Dick. His fight with Bernstein in the beginning, and his insult "You smell like cabbage"?? Comic gold!

heh, my friend used to have the Goulet ring on his phone for me. Everytime he answered he would still be laughing. And my friends and I very often like to throw a random "Goulet!" into conversation for good measure.
