HBO has been running David Bowie: The Last Five Years, which consists largely of interviews with artists he worked with towards the end of his life. The last year is particularly interesting and poignant--it was touching to learn that the colleagues with whom he had shared his diagnosis and prognosis had protected his privacy so carefully, which allowed him to keep working right up to the very end of his life. It's a little scattershot and disjointed, but seeing him come full circle with Lazarus was so sweet, and there's an interesting discussion at the end of how he kept returning to certain characters and themes, particularly Major Tom. I learned a lot and enjoyed it very much.

Oh! Thank you, fitz! That is one of my family's favorite Christmas songs and I almost forgot about it this year (my brother-in-law passed a couple of weeks ago and the Christmas spirit has been sparse). This song is exactly what we need.

A staple in the Oxy household...it's just not Christmas without it.
(hildy) I'm so sorry for your family's loss. It's amazing how music can give us just what we need when we need it most. Hugs to you.

(hildy) I'm sorry for your family's loss.
I still miss David Bowie, around this time of year I love his version of Nature Boy from the Moulan Rouge soundtrack.

BBC 4 have aired about an hour of Bowie’s Glastonbury set from 2000, I’ve it recorded I’m not sure if it’s on iplayer or how accessible that content is overseas (can’t get in Ireland) but if you come across it on BBC America, watch it, record it, save it somehow, I’m only 14 minutes in and it’s brilliant, long haired, long coated Bowie( I have a worrying thing for guys in longs coats with any length hair) in top form. Its a gem so far...and my telllybox is not loud enough must check settings Damn I miss him. Excited edit !!. Its on the tube of you! for now. I will always miss him. We will always have his music and brilliance and miss him at the same time. shallow end of the pool editLong haired longer coat wearing Glastonbury Bowie, very fanciable, very fanciable indeed..... it’s not fair sulky edit. It’s only a hour long..I want more, more, more... I’m sure I posted this before but just Incase edit Bowie talks internet and what it’s impact will be and other stuff he knew he just did.... no one can tell me otherwise edit ..the world has gone to shit since David left us without his supervision and guidance .... the unrelated but oh fuck I’m old, we are all old edit the year 2000 is 19 the millennium bug that never was but if it had been ..it could vote(badly)...

New video marking 50 years since Space Oddity was released it was shown at a NASA event at the Kennedy centre yesterday as well. No change to music just unseen (by me anyway) footage from Bowie’s 50th birthday concert and other bits. Space Oddity (2019)Its very beautiful and so poignant too i think.
