I personally hope it's true, only because I get so tired of seeing moms automatically get awarded custody. I have Anne Heche's insane book, and it's highly possible that the kid is better off with Dad than Celestia. Besides, if it was a guy who dumped his spouse for his costar, the gossip blogger would be up in arms about the cheating scumbag. But in this case, the press is like "Anne and her new boyfriend seem very happy together." Huh? She's crazy! Yeah, and what's the worst that she came up with for him - chronic masturbation?

No, they wouldn't. They would call the girl he cheated with a slut, and the wife a frigid loser. Brad Pitt, anyone?

Apparently it's 50/50 custody until she goes out of town to film her series.. then he has full custody, and she has visitation every other weekend. He also gets child support and spousal support. But the child must stay in LA. She sounds like the big loser.

The poor child sounds like the big loser in this situation to me.
I think that a lot of it is true, or, at least, entirely true to Anne Heche. Yes, including the memories of child sexual abuse and the spiritual experiences. Is it well written? No. It is believable to anyone who isn't Anne Heche? Maybe not. But hers is a common story. Yes, even though it includes things like the "Celestia" delusion. Belief that one is God, a god or goddess, or godlike aren't unusual during periods of spiritual euphoria.
I think the reason she has sort of moved away from addressing the "Call Me Crazy" stuff is that she's became really, really embarrassed that she wrote about or published any of it, especially in the bizarre, self-aggrandizing voice she picked out for herself, which makes her appear as if she is doing little more than glorying in her victimization. And I'm betting she REALLY regrets telling anyone about being Celestia.
Some here have asked if she's in denial about what happened and what she wrote about it. Denial? Like, in the clinical sense? I don't know. If I were to whip out my armchair psychologist hat, I'd guess that she does have some sort of dissociative condition. But I can't tell whether I think she's reverted into the "alternate" identity in recent years or whether she's pulling a childish, Sharon Stone-esque, "That didn't happen!" about the whole weird mess.
I wonder, though, if we're not about to see another "Celestia" era flip-out from her. The stress of the recent custody battle alone might have been enough to provoke a meltdown of that nature, and if she suffers any career damage as a result (I think Heche is a careerist more than she is anything else)...could get ghoulish.

I'm sure the soap world would welcome her back.

Wait how could this be? Wasn't she in movies and paid well ($10,000 an depisode is well paid imo, and I KNOW she was paid more than that)? Why didn't she invest or save? What kind of money manager did she have? GAH!
