Great point about that, magazinewhore. I think the understanding of people who aren't hetero-normative in the 1990s wasn't there; frankly there are too many who still don't get that not everyone's straight. I know the issues with the Kinsey scale, but at least that was an acknowledgment that no one is 100% hetero or 100% gay/lesbian. Anne's relationships really showed she loved who she wanted to love, society's judgement be damned. No, Anne wasn't 100% lesbian, but probably more of a 2 on the Kinsey scale. Hell, I still have to tell my mom I'm bisexual and not "confused" (while politely asking her to not order from Chick-fil-A because of their funding of conversion therapy). I'm glad that's getting acknowledged, and I found out she was an Emmy winner (1991)! That's an achievement that I think hasn't been highlighted until now.

I commend her family for being open in sharing her decision to be an organ donor, and sharing the timing of the process for that to happen. Anything that can be done to raise awareness of the importance of that deserves appreciation in my book.

I just think it's horribly sad for everyone concerned. Aside from losing Anne so suddenly, her family and friends have to cope with the horror of how she died. The lady whose house was destroyed has lost the majority of her possessions and is now homeless. It's a tragedy for everyone.
I hope Anne was in too much shock to actually suffer.
Godspeed, Anne.
