Legally who if anyone will now be responsible for reimbursing the house for the owner, and the personal belongings of the occupant (and their likely PTSD from the incident if they and their pets were nearly killed)? Can they file a suit against her estate before it’s distributed?

Can they file a suit against her estate before it’s distributed? Homeowners and renters insurance will likely pay out and the estate will almost certainly be sued. I would expect that a case will be filed in the coming week or two in order to freeze the estate. Or the lawyers for her estate may reach out to settle the case. But there is a substantial GoFundme already established - so the victim (the renter) is definitely going to be reimbursed at the very least by the fund which is up to $157k so far.

I'm guessing all the insurances - her car insurance, the homeowners' insurance, the renter's insurance will have to hash a lot of stuff out with the police to figure out fault. Also was there damage done to the parking garage she also hit initially? They might end up involved too.
It's sad that the crazy circumstances of her death are clouding the very sad fact of the loss of her life. I hope her family can make it through this without having people screaming about addiction and mental illness until after she's been mourned. It's kind of making me ill.

ETA: hildymatildy, according to TMZ quoted by tiggertoo on page 30, there was no alcohol found in her blood sample, just cocaine and fentanyl (which could've been administered in the ambulance and/or the hospital). It's possible her BAC declined to non-detectable levels after a couple of days, but officially she's not considered legally drunk (0.08 BAC in the USA) because the impossibility of administering a breathalyzer to a critically injured car accident victim. The blood sample would have been taken on arrival at the hospital. If there was zero alcohol found then it's unlikely she had been drinking at all, and definitely not drunk. You don't need a breath test if you've done a blood test; blood tests are more accurate.

This is so tragic. I met her once, years ago, in the mid-90s. She came into a coffee shop I worked in and I recognized her from "Another World." I told her so, and that I loved her performance as the twins. She came in a few times after and we chatted a little. She was very nice, but even then, she seemed to have a sadness about her. She was so pretty, with the most gorgeous skin, but her smile never reached her eyes. May she rest in peace.

I had completely forgotten that she played Vicky and Marley.

I loved her in Walking and Talking. She definitely had a compelling screen presence. I think she could have had a Jennifer Aniston-type career had she not had her mental problems. She was my age, which makes me sad.

She was my age, which makes me sad. That was one of the first things I saw her in (other than Vicky/Marley) and I loved it. Looking back, it's got a pretty similar plot to Bridesmaids (but with fewer characters and less funny).

This is the lady whose house was destroyedShe doesn't appear to have any ill will toward Anne or anyone else (even in earlier IG posts, she just talks about how crazy the situation is, but doesn't cast blame), and just sent out this very compassionate message after Anne passed.

Her death is niggling at me and I'm not sure why other than she's my age and it's a tragic death. I guess I'm surprised it isn't a bigger deal in the media.
Firstly, she should get more accolades for taking the media heat as "coming out" in a lesbian relationship with Ellen before it was cool (even though she wasn't truly a lesbian). But she did it when it was really, really uncool. Everyone one of those edgy kids on Euphoria owe her (and many others) a debt of gratitude for being a very public punchline for a long time. Perhaps Anne's "crazy" was good in that it gave her fortitude to weather a situation that Ellen even said was difficult. Anne seemed to genuinely not care what people thought of her, which is certainly a gift.
Secondly, women's mental health. I know her death isn't a "big" news story due to the fact her career has cooled considerably. And we make jokes about her alter ego Celestia, but if half of what she said her life was like was true, Anne seemed to have come out about as well as a person possibly could with that background. Clearly she and her siblings had a turbulent upbringing. I don't know if her death was a suicide attempt or not (as her brother's likely was). I hope that makes sense and is respectful.
Anyway, RIP.
