My mom was once on a jury that acquitted a guy who was pulled over for drunk driving. He came up with a good enough story that they didn't feel they could convict him.
The judge gave my mom a ride home because she'd told the court she didn't have transportation. In the car, she asked the judge if he thought the guy was guilty and he said, "Oh yeah, 100% guilty. He's in my court all the time. But he's a nice guy, I'm glad you let him go."

Mouse, sorry I don’t remember more about the details of the case, but he had been punished and nothing deterred him.

And short of locking them up, you can't stop them. People who repeatedly choose to drive impaired are probably not likely to be deterred by license revocation when they didn't care up to this point that they were endangering people.

My god, what a shitty take.

According to TMZ, no alcohol in her bloodstream, but there was cocaine and fentanyl. They need to do more tests to determine if fentanyl was administered in hospital. Wouldn’t there be medical records for that?

Wouldn’t there be medical records for that? No doubt she was put on some kind of high level pain killer, and yeah, there would be a record. I know I got an injection of straight up morphine first thing when I arrived at the burn unit, and I think that's pretty much what I was given throughout the rest of my stay...just through a drip.

What a terrible way to go. I hope her sons are surrounded by a lot of support.
Is it crass of me to wonder if any of her organs could be transplanted? I would assume she has a lot of internal injuries and her drug/alcohol use probably took a toll on her liver and kidneys.
