I like how Defamer summed it up, "too crazy to raise my kid but not too crazy to give me 33k a month."
Also, if all the guy has in way of "poor parenting skills" is that she cusses in front of the kid and sometimes makes meals that he doesn't like? Puh-leeze. Every mom in the history of ever would be on trial.
It sucks because while Anne definitely has a history of mental problems, she seems to have gotten them under control and now they're going to be used against her again.
I mean, yeah, I can understand why he's pissed off due to being dumped for her costar, but still. Those examples are nowhere close to "poor parenting skills." Not while Britney roams the streets.
(FWIW, many of Steve Martin's exes claim that he's not funny off-screen at all but dark and troubled. Supporting the great comedians are fucked up theory and the ones who lived a life of bluebirds and lollipops go on to become...Dane Cook.)

Coley Laffoon has got to be the worst name ever (right next to Homer Laffoon)! And he should be raising the child because he was a summer camp counselor? HA
I've never liked this chick, but the part about the bad lunches cracks me up. My kids are teenagers and still think my dinners suck - I must need therapy!

Well, except for all the cheating. I think she is an opportunistic famwhore of the highest order. I think she'd do anything to keep her name in the headlines. I don't really see how filing for joint custody is a prelude to a nasty custody battle, but his allegations are pretty petty, in general. I wouldn't be too happy about my kid sleeping in the same bed with Mom and her lover, however. I hope she gets trashed from here to Sunday for now trying to make him sound like a deadbeat when she was JUST in People lauding him for being a stay at home Dad.

A lot of what Coley cites in his petition is so trivial. Lunches- Come on! What parent always gives a child what they like to eat and quite frankly some kids go through stages where they only like crap. My oldest stepson only likes junkfood (to the point it is ridiculous and somewhat condoned by his mother) but instead of an argument- I feed him freeze dried Hamburger Helper . Anyhow- the fact that he also brings up that he is qualified to be a parent because he was a nanny and a camp counselor is dumb. He is the child's parent and primary caregiver. He provides stability and plenty of time with the child and consistency and should continue to do so in the best interest of the child. That should be argued. Anne is kind of the man in this situation going out and earning the bacon. It takes a lot of hours to earn the kind of money she does and it in no way means that she loves her child less than Coley but it does in fact take up a lot of time that should be devoted to a child. 16 hour days are rough but that is a fact for hour long tv shows. He should get a new lawyer. And quite frankly if and when Matt Damon gets divorced are people really going to bring up the fact that his wife was a single mother bartender before she hooked up with a movie star? No. Because she's a woman. She raised their child and would continue to do so and get support for it. I don't understand why it is different for a guy. The only thing that I find to be a credible argument is the fact that she had the child in bed with her and her lover. Aside from that - he shouldn't even bring up the carseat incident because by letting it happen (if he did) he is just as liable.

i thought Coley came from a somewhat moneyed background. He did which is why he was able to get away with "earning" $6,000 a year as a camera man when he met Anne. In my opinion, the ex is a total douche. And just wants money. $45, 000 a month in spousal support. Please? He needs to get a job. And I feel the same way about women who want massive amts of child support.

I totally understand what you're saying, but on the other hand, one reason the courts give massive amounts of child support if one parent substantially makes more than the other is to even out of the lifestyles so that 1) the child won't go from a mansion to a shack when he switches off between parents and 2) the richer parent can't use his/her money to curry favor with the kid and lord it over the other parent.

"Heche also claims that when Laffoon came to visit her on the Vancouver set of "Men in Trees" with their son, he "bragged to me and other cast members on the set about going to strip clubs and that he knew each joint in town.""
Snort. James Tupper is going to be so, so psyched about possibly having to contribute to the upcoming divorce case.
(...well, more than he has already)
