I never saw RJ perform live, but I did enjoy his appearances on various tv programs over the years. Tonight I saw an interview on one of the entertainment shows that featured Paul Rodriguez (a comedian) saying that he "doesn't forgive" RJ taking his own life, and that he "hopes that God will forgive him" - WHAT AN ASS!!!
While I have never known anyone personally who chose suicide to end their life, I know people who have had friends or family members go that way. The amount of pain that the person must be going through to choose suicide is so intense, it's beyond whatever I can imagine...

I agree, but there are alot of people out there whose religion tells them that anyone who commits suicide automatically goes to hell. I really really hope that is not true, I can't imagine a God who would punish someone who is either in enormous pain or not of sound mind. But Paul Rodriguez needs to keep those sentiments to himself.

maybe PR is just angry as a good friend and is still trying to take it all in .I didn't see the interview but anger seems to be expressed sometimes after a death like this.

I always like Richard Jeni's stand up comedy. I was very sorry to see that he took his own life since he was only 49. Poor guy.
I didn't realize that not only did we grow up in the same neighborhood in Brooklyn, we even went to the same college.

I think the entire quote was that he "hopes God will forgive him, because he won't". Yes, he was angry. IMHO, it is a very selfish thing to do. On the other hand, one can't argue with mental illness.
