I know a guy who beat skid-row level addictions to gambling, alcohol, pills, and heroin but couldn't give up cigarettes until very recently. He said the cigarettes were the hardest to quit of all. Walk into any cancer ward and you'll see patients rolling their IVs outside to smoke. Nicotine is a cruel bitch.

Plus, if it is the way that you deal with stress and are under stress (TV show, dealing with post cancer issues), it is nearly impossible to quit. My aunt has cancer now but still smokes due to the stress.

I don't like that dress at all. She looks lumpy.

We were just talking about this- if you're addicted to anything else it's totally acceptable to got take a 30 day inpatient treatment spell and expect your social circle will support you in your recovery but for cigarettes? you're just supposed to tough it out. It would be much easier to quit smoking if there was a rehab option!* *semi-reformed smoker (ie I only smoke when I've been drinking; at which point all my similar semi-reformed friends are happy to enable my addiction. Damn them!!)

Thanks for the photos, mochakitty.
Her dress was my second fave of the night. It looked wonderful on her and I really liked the color and accents. Very classy looking.

Can she catch a break?! It's admirable that she is able to stay positive, but damn.

Breast cancer and MS is more than one person's share of health problems to have in a lifetime. I hope it's not too rough on her. She's only 49.
I love Dead to Me, and will binge Season 3 as soon as it comes out, although it looks like that will be delayed.
I was thinking the other day that it's been about 30 years, but the cast of Married With Children have almost all redeemed themselves. That was such a repugnant show, everyone involved was deeply tainted in my eyes. I have forgiven Christina because of Dead to Me. I have forgiven Ed O'Neill because of Modern Family. I have forgiven Katey Sagal just for being around and being cool. Verdict's out on David Faustino.
