Agreed. Sorrell Brooke was able to make Boss Hogg look like corrupt authority and a bumbling asshole all wrapped into one obese package. Reynolds is playing him as himself ion a white suit which destroys any real connection to the show. And speaking of which, are they even going to bother with casting a Rosco P. Coltrane or is Reynolds Hogg doing double-duty?

The only thing that can make me see this is the fact that Jay from Broken Lizard wrote it and i am a slave to super troopers and Club Dread.

I used to, as a child, refer to the Duke Bros. as "Choke and Puke Duke" whenever my little brother would watch. So I think I'd skip this even if Jessucka wasn't in it.
Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse...? Scares me!

I was surprised to hear that it's not opening until August. The PR machine seems to have been going full-steam for several months now, hasn't it?

I was in high school when this show came out PLUS lived in Florida, so you'd think I woulda loved this show--but I hated it. So did my friends--we made fun of it all of the time. It was cheesy and stereotyped Southerners in the worst way imaginable. I can't believe they have based an entire movie on such a bad tv show. Between this, Bewitched, The Honeymooners, The Bad News Bears, The Longest Yard--Jesus! Hollywood doesn't have an original thought in its collective head. I hope moviegoers stay away from these films in droves. ETA--BTW, I can totally imagine this would have been an entertaining show if you all saw it when you were a child. As a teenager, I thought it sucked

I was born in 1964, but I never watched this. I didn't think the guys were particularly cute, so for me, Dukes was just a lead-in to The Incredible Hulk.
That said - I hate to say this - but I might rent the movie when it comes out on DVD.
Lynda Carter still looks lovely, and that makes me happy.

I think the movie has been kidnapped by the Simpson publicity machine. Everyone has known that Jessica will be exploding onto the big screen in her movie debut as Daisy Duke in some movie or other for well over a year. She is calling herself "aka Daisy Duke" everywhere she goes. So, is there really a movie, with other actors and something resembling a plot? Or just Jessica washing a car in a bikini?

I saw the trailer for this recently, and the parts with the guys looked okay, but everytime they showed Jessica Simpson her scenes just looked painful. It's a bad sign when your perfomance looks like ass in a trailer. It reminded me of the time I was in seventh grade and perfomed in a play written by the students. I had the same deer in the headlights look and emotionless voice that Jessica has. Like I was performing for the first time in front of dozens of strangers and reading off cue cards. This does not bode well for her acting career. At least, for the fans of the show, everyone else looked decent.

Live here around Nashville and on one of the morning shows the guy who played Cooter was on promoting his resturant. When asked about the remake and the slut factor of Jessucka simpleton he basicly Said that the movie and he video is tranishing the rep of the old TV show and encouraged people to boycot it if they really love the old show, since most likely the remake isn't somthing you can sit around with your family and watch.-Thought i would pass that along
