To be fair, she didn't buy all the shoes in a year, that was the sum of her entire adult life. But I agree - I hated that storyline. You have to take the bus because you spent all your money on designer clothes? Well, cry me a river. The best part of it for me was when Charlotte said that it wasn't her responsibility to fix Carrie's finances. Of course, Charlotte backed down. She was right, too - you shouldn't mix friends and money.
I always loved it when one of the friends put Carrie in her place. My favorite moment might have been when Miranda had a bad back and Carrie showed up and all she wanted to do was talk about Aiden. "Bullshit bagels! You didn't even bring cream cheese!"
When the show was good, it was good.

Yes - I loved that episode. Didn't Carrier send Aidan over initially and he had to help Miranda up off the bathroom floor?
My sister and I love to repeat Carrie's line when she had to go down to Wall Street one morning and was jostled around in the crowd: "Oh! because you're SO BUSY!!"
I hope this is the end of the movies. They really should have done an HBO special or miniseries instead.

So I'm sick and watching the first movie on HBO, and I'm surprised at how relatively modest it seems in comparison to the second one. The second was just terrible.

An HBO special would be great, get the show back to it's roots and what made it so fun to watch. Sex and the City was made for my tv, not the movie theatre.

I liked the first movie, but the second one has tainted it in retrospect.

I just saw the last part of the first movie on HBO too, and it just had more 'heart' in some ways. Yes, there were extravagant shoes and everything, but there was a point to wrap up a few things that were not completely satisfied in the series. The second one had no point. I don't mind that there is no point, I still saw it in theatres, but it must be a letdown for someone who was really hoping for more than that.

Are they really doing another one, or is that a rumor (hopefully)?

Uhm, I'm late to the party but I just watched SATC2 and I was wondering was the goal of the movie to make me want to bitch slap Carrie. She was so self righteous and just mean to me at times. They just went too far with the designer crap as well. The Middle East story line made me want to hurl.
