I’m watching episodes from the final three seasons because I was unusually attracted to Linus Roache but after re-watching these episodes, his character really was kind of an ass.

I struggled through the SVU episode. I haven't watched in a few years and Mariska Hargitay sounds like she's been living on cigarettes and whiskey - her voice is so much lower. That was a very confusing integration of COVID into the show - explicitly having a discussion about it being a hoax and liberties being taken away, while there was no distancing and almost no mask wearing anywhere. Organized Crime looks dull as dirt, and the theme song is bad. I got a kick out of seeing Stabler's daughter with the terrible acting skills make an appearance. Poor, long-suffering Kathy. At least she got to spend a few years in Italy. I always wondered why Linus Roache's career didn't do better. I looked him up recently and found out that he and his wife are big devotees of a new agey cult. |

NBC bringing back Original Recipe Law & Order. Not sure if I like this idea. I mean, sure, I watch reruns daily on three different cable channels, and to follow up on my previous post back in April, I am uncomfortably obsessed with Linus Roache’s Mike Cutter, but I don’t know how this will work. Will any of the cast from the last season (or seasons) be involved? Will it be a whole new cast?

I'm cautiously excited, I think? I mean, the original show is one of my go-to's (I probably watch an episode almost every day, even if it's just on in the background), so the thought of new episodes makes me giddy. I'm really curious as to what's going to happen with the cast.

At first I thought it was great that the OG was coming back but then I realized I probably won’t watch it. I have a hard time watching past Season 12/13. I usually stick to seasons 5-11 in my rewatching because I love Schiff, Jack McCoy, the detectives and most of the ADAs except Serena (but I put up with her in the later seasons). I love the earlier Noth episodes but Stone puts me to sleep.

I think my favorite seasons are the Orbach/Bratt ones. Something about that combo was great. But, really, all the Lenny seasons are the best, because, Lenny.

While I can't argue with the classic Briscoe years, I actually liked the Lupo/Bernard years as well. (Although, I think the actors are both on other things so it seems unlikely they'd return long-term.) I'm super curious who will return for what.

IMHO it's all about Van Buren. No S. Epatha, no Wol watching.
An org I support did a fundraiser Q & A with S. Epatha and Jill Hennessy, and they gave away a swag bag with Jill's CD and a really cute mask that S. Epatha made herself to the first person to answer a trivia question. Of course I won and both actresses gave me a shout out and said my name and now I can die happy.
