This was one of my favorite threads back on FT. I kiss the feet of whomever thought this up. Which animated characters were you into and why?
Here are a few of mine:
Biker Mice From Mars
Vinnie-The white mouse. He was so wild and rebellious. Modo- The grey mouse. Really kind, sweet and compassionate. Throttle-The tan mouse. Debonair and he had a sexy voice.
TNMT
Rapheal- Ultimate badass and so sarcastic.
Family Guy
Brian- Sophisticated and intelligent.
More later.

I don't know why but I've always liked Justin the Rat from Secret of Nimh. He saves Mrs. Brisby and her kids, defeats the bad guy and even (gasp) swears in a kids movie!
Also the cast of Hey Arnold! and Recess.

I had a crush on Justin the Rat when I was a child. I always thought that if I was Ms. Frisbee (or whatever) I would want to kiss him.
My favorite animated character EVER is Chicken Boo from the Animaniacs. He did not get enough air time.
"You wear a disguise to look like human guys, but you're not a man, you're a chicken, Boo."

He saves Mrs. Brisby and her kids, defeats the bad guy and even (gasp) swears in a kids movie! I knew it! My class was shown this movie in, I believe, 6th grade. We got to the portion where he swears, and it was scandalous to our poor virgin minds. The teacher got pissed at us, told us we were hearing things, and told us to drop it. Anyway, I had forgotten about that until now. Validation. I enjoy the whole cast of the show Cowboy Bebop. Fantastically drawn out characters. I love them all. Also, the English voiceover actor who does Spike's voice kind of has a hot voice. On the more lusty front, I cannot express how hot I thought Batman from the Batman: The Animated Series was. There was one episode where the bad guy's henchman capture Batman, and they rip his shirt off for some reason. I saw this around puberty, and I was disturbingly turned on. Ah, good times.

"Daddy! You're back from Peru! We thought you got run over by an elevator!"
"Your brother blows bubble-gum!"
"I wish my brother George was here to see this!"
Everyone knows it's ALL about Bugs, but my second favorite is Wyle. E. Coyote, Genius, when he sports a British accent.
One reason for Bugs' fame may be that he is a Jungian/Joseph Campell mythological archetype, the shape-shifting Trickster God.
"Next."

The exact same thing happened to my class in 4th grade, only after he swore and we all gasped, the teacher got snippy and told us to be quiet and that we all must have heard that word before, otherwise we wouldn't have known what it meant. She got us there.
WOAH. I had completely forgotten about Chicken Boo. Damn, he was so funny.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Pinky and the nefarious Brain! I loved the Pinky and the Brain episode where you got to hear what Pinky was thinking.

I always loved Tom of Tom and Jerry fame. Jerry on the other hand I hated. He may have been cute, but he was and asshole.

Hands down, Bugs Bunny. I can still watch Bugs Bunny cartoons to this day.
Second? Well, one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid was Scooby Doo, so I'd have to say good ol' Scoob. He was such a chicken! I loved the episode when he has to go undercover to investigate a dognapping ring.
Man, the things I can remember!

Word to the Pinky and the Bwain shout outs ::SNARF!:: - which have sickeningly become the pet names for Mr. McGee and myself.
Other than that, I profess at an age old enough to look down at Britney as the child she is...that I will curl up on a Saturday and watch Tom and Jerry for hours on end.
And seriously Brian and Stewie on The Family Guy are just brilliance...pure brilliance.
/dorkiness.
