What won't surprise me is if another network or something picks up the show, a la IMUS getting his new radio spot.
*sigh*

I googled and tried to find some info myself but it all just mentioned that he's an ex-con and didn't elaborate. I also found out he has twelve kids. He was sitting in the car while his friend went into a drug dealers house to buy pot. His friend had a concealed weapon and shot the dealer. The dealer was also a friend of Dog's, and supposedly told the police (before he died) it wasn't Dog that shot him. I'm really disappointed to hear about the tape. I don't watch the show enough to know if there were other signs of his racism. But he always struck me as sincere in trying to help people turn their life around. That's weird. What happened to the other "friend" who did shoot him? Thanks for the info, though. I'm glad the show was canceled. It was on way too damn much. Anytime I passed by A&E it seemed like they were showing two or three hours of this shitty show.

Unfortunately, the show wasn't canceled, A&E just suspended production, which means to me they suspended the production until this blows over and it's back to business as usual after Dog goes on the Talk Show Apology Tour(tm).
It's sad, but these days, I don't expect much permanent reprecussions for asshole celebrities.

I heard that they suspended it, but that they now ceased production "indefinitely", which was the exact quote A&E used. Would that be classified as canceled?

A&E is probalby having their lawyers go over the contract with a finetooth comb to make sure they can sever ties without Dog later suing them.

I bet they have a special about Dog coming to terms with his behavior and resume the show as before.

I think you're right Binky. This whole suspending production will last till people are distracted by Britney's latest fiasco. Then, like you've posted, they'll do some special about Dog and his family are learning a lesson from this whole deal. Enough people will buy it and the show will continue as usual. And of course, whenever Dog is trying to fix someone he's just picked up he'll bring up this incident as proof that you can screw up and find strength to learn and save yourself.
I just can't see A&E giving up on the show for the long term. It made them pretty good money and I don't think they will let that go. Money trumps everything in show business.

But he and the show could be irreparably tainted as far as advertisers are concerned and A&E cares about that.

If we see the show again all of them will be crying holding hands in a circle claiming they are so sorry. Tucker learn from the best.
