I stumbled into a bunch of George Michael at the Paris Opera house videos on Youtube. Damn, I miss that man. Such a shame. That voice is magic.

I’ve watched bits of that and his voice is perfect.

Outside of his own songs, I’ve posted here many times I think or in his thread I love his version of The Beatles Long and winding road, it’s better than the original, his voice fits it’s so brilliantly
This video has him bantering with Sinead OConnor about underwear at the start that I’d not seen before but it’s pretty much sung for Linda McCartney and his Mum
The Long and Winding road I know I’ve postecabout 35 million times but I love his version
I think his covers of others are almost always as good or better than originals.

I had never heard this before and THANK YOU for the link! Absolutely beautiful. Something about his phrasing and elocution (?) allows me to hear and understand the lyrics to songs more completely. That gave me goosebumps.

He will forever be in my top 5 singers and songwriters list. I absolutely love his voice so much. One of (many) favorites is A Different Corner.

When I’m home and can hear better I’m definitely going to listen to Long and Winding, have never heard of it.

Stumbled upon Freddie Mercury Tribute concert channel hopping and we all know of his fantastic version of Somebody to Love, I’d forgotten he and Lisa Stansfield did a duet of These are the days of our Lives it’s really lovely.

Stranglers "perform" No More Heroes on Top of the Pops

I came across this recently. Top of the Pops never let any group perform live, they all had to mime their performances to the recording of the song. I don't know if the clips above are the Stranglers protesting that policy, or just being entertaining. Enjoy!
