Especially as in the trailers one of the girls gets killed by a boat running her over. Somehow she's in the water, Jason's on land--then Jason's in the boat, killing her.
And it's all there--in the trailer.

Being the huge horror fan I am, and LOVING this series, my boyfriend is taking me to see it on Valentine's Day. God, I love him.

I'm having trouble picturing Jason running over someone with a boat because I don't think Jason would be smart enough to figure out how to run a boat. He's not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. I wonder if they've made him into some kind of evil genius in the new movie. I hope not. But as I said I am still excited to see it! Crispin Glover cracked me up in "The Final Chapter" too! He looked very old, as well as sounding awkward. One of my favorite parts of any of the movies are the scenes with the motorcycle gang in "Friday the 13th 3-D." There are only three members in the gang, and they are totally ridiculous. They sneak into a barn at the camp and the female member starts playing hanging pots and pans like drums. I almost died laughing when I saw that for the first time. What a menacing gang!

How funny that both stars of Supernatural have horror movies out! Jensen Ackles in My Bloody Valentine and Jared Padelecki in this one.

I hate AMC's First Look treatment of the remake. We have these interviews with the cast, and they're all boasting, "Oh, we're taking the best bits from all the movies!...It's like the first one, only the 2009 version!...blah blah blah..."
When this preview played the other day, my friend turned to me and said, "Wow, they're really optimistic, aren't they?"

I think I find this weirder than most remakes/re-imaginings because not only is there one movie: there's an entire series. Are they going to re-do all the other ones too? I guess I just get grumpy when Hollywood is so blatantly unoriginal.

My problem with that being--that Jason was never really torture porn. By the time he grabbed his magic machete--the movies became borderline goofy--and that's what I like about them. They take themselves so seriously--and yet, they're not. Torture porn is no fun to me.

In Jason's defense he didn't need to be too terribly smart to kill a bunch of horny teenagers.

In Jason's defense he didn't need to be too terribly smart to kill a bunch of horny teenagers. Besides if drunken rednecks can handle a powerboat, then I'm sure Jason'll be fine. Press button to start engine, turn wheel to turn boat, kill teenager by running them down.

I love how the trailer doesn't even bother to hide who gets slashed and bashed by Jason. Personally, I'm hoping for a body count of at least 7 or 8 idiots. I'm not a fan of slasher movies with low body counts (Halloween H20, I'm looking at you!). You've got the R rating already so just go for it!
