I agree with everything you said, kostgard. And I still think Sandra Bullock should have played this role 10 years ago. I could totally buy her as Stephanie; I'm not sure about Heigl.
I think Daniel Sunjata is a good choice for Ranger, though.
Heh. Exactly.
I'll still probably see this, because I have a lot of love for these books (especially the earlier ones).

It looked like it sucked major ass just from the pics I've seen online. Maybe I'm a little more harsh since I'm a big fan of the books. But I even kinda like Heigl on screen! (Hell, I actually BOUGHT Life As We Know It! - OK. Maybe that had to do with Josh What's-His-Face more, though... This should go in TC. Hah.)
Yeah, this would have been aces, though, if it came out ten years ago with Sandy. I always pictured The Rock, too, but I don't know if he could do the mysterious thing. Everyone else I always pictured as fabulous unknowns.

Isn't January dumping ground for crappy films? I feel for the fans, but she should have never been cast in the role.

Pretty much!
I'm thinking it'll turn out shitty like V.I. Warshawski. (Books awesome. Movie? Not so much.)

I dunno...I thought the book was pretty awful so I'm not surprised the movie isn't turning out too good.

I loved the book (and the first maybe 8 or so after that, until they began to get really monotonous), so it makes me sad to think this is going to suck. And I'm still mad that Sandy didn't play this role about 10 years ago. She would have been perfect. She and Benjamin Bratt should have done this movies instead of the "Miss Congeniality" ones.

What do you mean "monotonous?" You don't want to hear, for the 20th book, about going back and forth between Ranger and Joe? Grandma saying "pip" for the millionth time? (Oh, and hey, did you know Vinnie's a pervert of the highest order?!) Some fan you are!

Seems like she glossed over details like that.
