Now I know why I missed you people while I was away this week...
Yes, indeed. Kelly Preston just needs to shut the hell up.

She crazy. Not to mention dumb as a box of rocks.
What's really scary is I used to kind of like her. Then, fortunately, I heard her speak and I realized what an idiotic, clam obsessed, nutcase she is.

Bad as she is, she still sounds a million times saner than Tom Cruise. When she talks, she sounds like a regular person who happens to have a lot of dumb opinions, rather than a psychopath trying to quiet all the evil voices in her head while she repeatedly spits out a few barely-coherent phrases.
Tom really reminds me of Eddie Murphy's character in Bowfinger being hooked up to electrodes by a "Mindhead" counselor and rocking back and forth while repeating "Keep it together, keep it together, keep it together."

Yes, that was a direct jab at Scientology in Bowfinger. (My favorite part was when the Mindhead guy advised him to "keep Mr. Weenie in his pants".) God bless, Steve Martin.

So is she responsible for getting John Travolta into Clamology, or did they meet at some sort of Scientology singles mixer (i.e., fixed up by the Church)?
We really should have a "Celebrities By Association" thread. Its patron saints would be Kelly and Kate Capshaw.
I love Bowfinger.[/ot]
And Kelly needs to shut the hell up.

These "celebs" are very dangerous. She needs to shut her trap about things that are clearly beyond her comprehension. It is so frustrating because people may actually believe her.

I agree that scientology celebs are dangerous. Luckily, I don't think anyone will listen to Kelly Preston, because nobody cares about her. I can't imagine someone saying, "Hey! That chick who had a co-starring role in 'The Cat in the Hat' thinks psychiatric drugs are bad! That is sooo interesting. I will stop taking drugs." Tom Cruise, on the other hand...ugh...
What's scary about Kelly is that she comes off like a normal person when she isn't talking about scientology. I read an interview with her in InStyle where she didn't talk about the cult (or, more likely, she did talk about it and they cut those parts out). She came off as very normal, talking about her favorite makeup and her kids and stuff like that. But you know she's a big old freak underneath.

You know in an odd way, her and Kirsty talking about all this stuff actually helps psychology because it's clear that they don't know what they are talking about. Open your mouth and reveal that you are a fool is exactly what they are doing. Look at Jenna Elfman, does anyone take her "aids is only a state of mind" thing seriously?

*Rox Populi stunned into silence at the stupidity* I mean there really are no words. And why is anyone giving her airtime for this?
She may sound sane, but I bet if you go to her house that her Wall of Crazy is still pretty damn impressive.

I don't know the full details about this, but maybe someone here on the board does-- but doesn't her older kid (Jett?) have some sort of life threatening disease that they are basically trying to keep in check Scientology-style? And it's not really working so he's pretty sick? I know I've seen it mentioned from time to time when I used to cruise the Travolta thread on FT. If it's true? They're both permenently on my shit list. If I had a kid and they were very sick, it would never let my religion dictate the details of the type of treatment he could or could not receive.
