I finished the season yesterday and overall thought it was meh. I do not care about Doug Stamper and his neuroses. Agree that Petrov was one of the best things about this season.
I decided to watch the original House of Cards (it's on Netflix) to see how it compares to the US version.

I find Doug Stamper fascinating, but it was frustrating how the writers devoted so much time to his arc only to have him not change at all. I also thought it was strange that they didn't Spoiler show Rachel's murder in the last episode.

I finally started to watch season 3, without having read anything about it. I was very disappointed with episode 1 as it focused on Doug Stamper, whom I have no interest in. I struggled to make it through episode 2 as it was all so tedious. That was when I started reading and found a lot of people saying how terrible the whole season was. I don't think I'm going to bother with the rest of it.
Did they make a lot of behind the scenes changes this season or something? It seems like all of the interesting characters are gone. I guess that what happens when characters are constantly being murdered.

I guess everyone hated it seeing that there aren't many posts about the season. I did enjoy Petrov a lot, and I'm very conflicted about Doug. I'm not sure what he was so obsessed over?

I binge-watched the first few episodes of season 3 and lost interest. Who the hell cares about Doug?! I then read what happens in the rest of the episodes and only watched the final two. Not sure why as it was frustrating as hell. I'm rooting for characters like Heather, Jackie, Remy and Kate but I know that none of their attempts to take down Frank will be successful. So why bother spending time on them or getting invested them as a viewer? Frank is totally ready to kill again and I'm guessing it's the author and/or Kate. And Doug is a fucking monster. Well done show for wasting so much time on his struggles only to ultimately have him not change at all. He's still Frank's dog.

Re: season three. How will season four be anything other than the last season? If Claire has really (spoiler) left Frank for good, I don't think they have any choice other than to have Frank kill her. Because, for political reasons if not emotional ones, he won't be able to go on after that.

I have marathoned this for the past couple of weeks. Incredible performances by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright (which, of course, she's got real-world experience living with psycho assholes). I just don't see where the story will go much past Underwood becoming president. I hope to be surprised. Pleasantly.

The only way this can go is Claire vs. Frank. I just finished episode 4 of the season that just came out, and wow. I am really enjoying this.
