I just can't go back to watching. Highly dysfunctional relationships just aren't entertainment for me anymore.

It's definitely an improvement over last season. I'm enjoying the Claire vs. Frank aspect. Episode 4 is a real game-changer.

It's definitely an improvement over last season. I'm enjoying the Claire vs. Frank aspect. Episode 4 is a real game-changer. I enjoyed this season a whole lot more than season 3. It was ridiculous, but I've come to expect that. I agree about episode 4, I actually gasped watching it. The finale left me pretty excited for next season, and I didn't feel that way after the last finale. Ellen Burstyn was wonderful as Claire's mom. I loved all of their scenes together.

I'll concur: It was better than season 3, but these people are so horrible (all of them!!) that I just needed to take a shower after watching.
Also, are Claire and Frank supposed to be Hillary and Bill? Cause I'm trying to make peace with the fact I'm going to have to give up a lot of life for her in the fall to stave off he who shall not be named, and it just depressed the hell out of me.

The Underwood marriage is certainly inspired by the Clintons, but they're not copycats. I'd argue that Hillary is a lot more warm and personable than Claire. My thoughts on the season: Boy, Frank recovered from that liver transplant awfully fast. I just don't believe voters would ever go for a husband and wife on the same ticket. I don't know what Doug is up to with the widow, but I'm sick of his weird neuroses and mommy issues. Conway looks like he's about 17. His British-born wife clearly has some Democratic sympathies and her husband is a narcissistic jerk. Claire would be wise to use this to her advantage. Claire and Yates really like each other. I don't see it ending well despite Frank's blessing. This is bound to come out publicly. Next season prediction: Claire is elected VP and then murders Frank.

Threatening to sell her cancer-stricken mother's house out from under her, was season 1 levels of evil Claire. I don't think HRC is quite this vicious.

No, but the calculation and finding ways to win no matter what don't seem like a stretch. I kind of wish I didn't watch this season.

Season 4 definitely had its moments. I was LMAO when watching the Russian president handle Donald Blythe and his book, "Learning to Learn." "The chapter on visualization...visualize me cutting off your remaining oil supply." Ha.

Poor Lucas! I keep remembering him sobbing for Heather Dunbar to help him. That last shot will stick with me for a long time. CHILLS.

Season 5, anyone? Released nearly two weeks ago and not much chatter. I read earlier in May that with the current state of U.S. politics, ratings were expected to be down for this season. I totally get that, and felt it at times. If anything I worried that 44.5 might get some ideas.
Anyhow, I watched it over the course of three days. It didn't have my full attention so I missed some nuance, but it still made my head hurt. Anyone else watch?
