Man, I always want to call Harold Ramis - Ivan Reitman. Didn't realize Moranis has retired from acting.

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Rick Moranis last year if you're curious. He stopped in order to raise their kids after his wife passed away from breast cancer. Saw the remake today. It dragged a little bit in places, but overall I really had fun. Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth were 100% worth the price of admission. I've always thought Hemsworth had really good comic timing in the Marvel movies, so it was great to see him fully cut loose here. I have to admit I was sort of flipped around on Wiig/McKinnon compared to a lot of people... I thought Wiig was fine and McKinnon was slightly annoying, much as I really hate to say it. McCarthy was great as always and I enjoyed the cameos and a lot of the side characters (the mayor and his assistant, Charles Dance, etc.).

Cable tv is playing the original a lot, and frankly, I don't see what the fuss is about. It's a pretty cheesy movie. The acting seems almost Airplane-esque, as if they thought it was a spoof and not a legit ghost comedy. (Heh, legit ghost comedy?) So I don't see what all the fanboy angst is about. Better things than Ghostbusters have been remade. To me, the only thing that truly stands the test of time from that film is the theme song. That, and I'll always love Harold Ramis.

The Staypuft man will never not give me happy feelings. And 'When someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!' is on my list of ultimate life lessons. But I also adored the masterpiece Strange Brew, so maybe I just have a freaky Rick Moranis fetish.

"When someone asks if you are a god..." is a lesson we have taught MissP from day one. Right after "You can BE the drummer, but you cannot DATE the drummer."

We saw this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Best movie ever? No, but still great fun.

We saw it Sunday night. Not awful. Wiig was less annoying than usual, McCarthy was a wasted resource. McKinnon saved it for me, with her cheerful insanity.
Aykroyd seemed to be replaying his character from "Grosse Point Blank."

I went to see this over the weekend. I enjoyed it. I liked the interactions of the four characters and I really appreciated that there wasn't a love interest shoe-horned into the plot.

We saw this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Best movie ever? No, but still great fun. The boyfriend and I saw it last night, and we loved it. It wasn't the best movie ever, but it was hilarious. I loved (and wished they'd played up more) the fact that Leslie Jone's character knew ALL about the history of New York, as a Science and History geek I loved it. It was funny, Chris Hemsworth was great, and I really enjoyed myself.

We saw it tonight and thought it was great. I don't know why it had such negative advance buzz. Chris Hemsworth stole the show and that is no simple feat with those four very funny ladies.
