YES. YESSSSS. Zero romance, zero 'sad lady with cats' montages. I like that their work was important to them.

I finally got around to seeing this. The dumb-ass receptionist that didn't do his job well, or at all really, bugged the shit out of me. Beyond reason.

Finally saw this now that it is on Starz. It was okay. Not awful, but not great, either.
It just didn't...take off. All the ingredients were there, but it didn't quite come together for me. It's like they really needed to turn it up a few notches. Maybe 1-2 more revisions on the script to tighten things up. It also should have been about 20 minutes shorter. The ending didn't really work for me, either. I fell asleep watching it last night right before the big climax (more because it was late and I was tired rather than the movie), so I watched this morning and thought "Meh."
I think Jones and McKinnon were my favorites - Jones because she was the closest thing this movie had to a normal person, and McKinnon for being the opposite and just digging into her character's weirdness. I did appreciate that there was no bitchy girl in-fighting and no love story (just Wiig lusting after Hemsworth and getting absolutely no where). They were just a bunch of lady nerds (even Jones, with her NYC trivia) enthusiastic about their work.

I feel like they were all a bit restrained, which doesn't suit any of those actresses.

Yeah, I come back to the "lack of spark" as well. It was definitely not as tight as Spy or Bridesmaids. I almost feel like there was too much "hey, we're doing Ghostbusters" self-awareness to the movie that kind of inhibited it? The lack of inhibition might have been why Hemsworth, Jones and McKinnon stood out.
That said, my dad, who is much closer in age to Akyroyd, Murray, etc., got a huge kick out of this movie and thought it was the best thing he saw all summer. So that's kind of adorable.

Has anyone seen Ghostbusters: Afterlife? I thought it was cute and SO nostalgic
