It was alright, but {Spoiler}The cameos by the original cast really took me out of the movie, since they simultaneously reminded us of the first (and much better) one, while playing not terribly funny new characters, but who just seemed to be there to have a cameo by a celebrity, who happened to be in the first movie. It had it's moments, and to be fair, I was very tired, but... ehhh.

I went with some friends who had already seen it and said I would love it and I found it ok. It reminded me of Bridesmaids and I really didn't enjoy that movie. So not as horrible as people claimed, but I won't be adding it to my collection.
I think I am also getting McCarthy and Wigg fatigue.

I saw it! I liked it quite a bit--I laughed and guffawed, although some of it did drag a bit. As far as the comparison to Bridesmaids, I don't think it's especially apt. Both of them have a Sad Kristen Wiig story arc, but it's defused and not as grinding, and definitely not central. The stories are different, even though there is a parallel of the importance of female friendships. I liked Bridesmaids, but I don't think it's so similar, and mild spoiler: there's no romance in this.
Chris Hemsworth was funny, and I want more Leslie Jones. And I stayed for the final clip!
ETA: The only thing I didn't like was the scene where they're sitting around eating Papa John's. In a movie about ghosts and the paranormal, that was the most unbelievable thing for a movie set in New York City. I know how product placement works, but still. Hmph.

" Please don't be like the mayor from Jaws". The part of the movie I really laughed out loud, the rest I just sort of chuckled.

I haven't seen Jaws*, so I didn't get that part of the joke, but I loved the reaction. I also like the dumb little jokes, like "You saw Ed Mulgrave? He's been dead for 15 years."
*adding to the list of movies I haven't seen (in completion), including original Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.

Didn't care for it. The script was not all bad, but I can't claim I thought it was either a good movie or a funny one. Also, the all woman thing was fine, I kinda wish they'd "done" more with it, but the individual casting was terrible. If there's really going to be a follow up, they should just keep Leslie Jones and toss everyone else. She was the only one in this movie I wasn't grinding my teeth over.

This article sums up my opinion on the all-female cast: “Why? Should I Go See It?” it's a tad navel-gazery but it pokes me in the feels. I liked that there weren't any fat jokes or related soft-target jokes about women, no deep drama about female friendships. I liked Jillian's pantsuits. I liked that Erin wasn't sure about her work clothing. I'm not trying to make it something it's not, but I liked it for a few reasons. It was kind of refreshing.

There are many things I liked about it, one that comes to mind is that there was zero romance. I hate it when action or scifi movies shoehorn in a romance for no good reason.
