Kevin continues to be able to afford first class anything, even though "The Manny" ended 5 years ago. (I'm assuming he wasn't making Friends / Seinfeld syndicated money.) The way they reference that show, I can believe he was making good money for a number of years. Plus, he was in that blockbuster a couple years ago. Out of all the things this show asks me to buy, this one I can hand-wave away. I really hope we do get Miguel and Rebecca's love story. Feels like that's got to be on deck (next season when MM isn't hiding her baby belly anymore). Yeah, I envision The Manny having been a show like Two and a Half Men or something along those lines, not high art, but popular and lucrative.

And syndication money is nothing to sneeze at.

I liked the tangent giving credit to the FaceTime inventor. Enjoyed his wife's incredulous look when he's describing the concept, "I can take a picture and send it on the computer to my mother in India?" Things that are so normal now, to the point that people bitch and moan when they don't work 100% all the time, were sci-fi not that long ago.
Of course the babies are born the same day so they have a new Big Three.

So, this show is back. You may not have known, as I did not, until I ran across it on Hulu.
Honestly, I find the long gaps and lack of continuity in programming to really affect my interest in the plotlines. I really struggled to remember a damn thing that had happened to close out the previous season.
The episode itself was okay, but I think I'd have liked it more had it come closer to the last episode so I'd have more investment in what happened.

Is this the last season of the show?
I also hate how they space out the show. I don’t even remember where the last season left off of. The only thing I remembered was Kate’a wedding to the British guy, but I don’t remember Kevin or Randall’s storyline.

On the plus side-it’s going to run more or less straight through with no breaks until the finale. I imagine there might be an Olympic break, but that’s it.

I agree the long breaks have been to its detriment, but at this point I'm committed to seeing this thru to the end!

Did COVID have something to do with the long break? I think the reason for the long breaks is because producers realize, in the future, people will binge watch this show.

Did COVID have something to do with the long break? I think the reason for the long breaks is because producers realize, in the future, people will binge watch this show. There is Covid and someone earlier in the thread referenced Mandy Moore being pregnant, however, in flipping back, I posted an almost embarrassingly similar comment to the one I just made back in 2019: So the uneven programming schedule and long gaps seem like they've been going on since before Covid was even a thing. I have no idea whether the "future bingeing" idea is true, but if that were the case, then just wait and release the whole thing at once like Netflix does. It doesn't make sense to me for a network show to just randomly disappear for periods of time when the stories are ongoing and interwoven. End of season cliffhangers, fine, but then when it's nearly a full year til it returns? Hard to even remember where things left off. And with using young actors to play the previous versions of the big 3, they're gonna have to keep recasting as those kids age out if they keep dragging out filming. I've wondered if they were dragging it out because they set an ending of 6 seasons ahead of time and it gives them a hard stopping point, the only variability they have is over how many years they can stretch these 6 seasons out.

I do not like the British future husband of Kate. Also there is a lot of trauma associated with cooking appliances.
