Nobody seems to know of a reason why he's in solitary confinement except that he probably asked to be because he thinks he's so famous he can't mingle with the other criminals, who are likely a bunch of white collars like himself. If he doesn't like solitary, I would suggest that he design himself some balls.

Unless "solitary" is a dark hole like in the movies, I think he's got the better deal not being in gen pop.

And serving the rest of the sentence at home? Yeah, that's a real punishment, living in a home that could qualify as a resort. Can't even say being confined to the home is a punishment because we're all basically confined to the home right now.

Just a few weeks of solitary can really undo some people emotionally. Our brains aren't wired to be alone 24/7 with nothing to do. It sounds okay, but can be really traumatizing. But if anyone deserved it, it's these two yahoos.

Giannulli's lawyer claimed that he was not moved to a minimum security camp after completing the prison's required COVID-19 quarantine following his arrival, but instead "was immediately placed in solitary confinement in a small cell at the adjacent medium security penitentiary, 24 hours per day with only three short 20 minute breaks per week, where he remained for 56 days before finally being transferred to the camp yesterday (January 13)."

Honestly, for the crime, that does sound excessive.

What if this is what's necessary for the prison to try to minimize COVID spread? Perhaps they need to separate prisoners as much as possible and utilize all space they can at this time. If so, it's a burden on every prisoner in the facility. Why should Mossimo be the only one who gets special treatment and gets to go home because of it?

Again, I'd like to reiterate that he knew he would be serving his time during the pandemic and he agreed to it. There is never a guarantee that any prisoner gets to go to the facility, block, cell, or bed of their choosing. Those decisions are not up to them.

I would say it's legitimate for him to petition to be moved out of solitary confinement. Not legitimate for him to ask to go home.

Yeah, I wasn't saying he should go home, just that the solitary is excessive. Understand that it could be because of Covid, but that doesn't mean the request is invalid.

Also, let's not forget that had they done what Felicity Huffman did and immediately show remorse and take their punishment, they each could have served 2 weeks before this pandemic even happened.

Solitary may be difficult, but in addition to the original crimes, he continued to make the choices that put him in this situation, it didn't have to be this way.

I don't understand the "early release for fear of COVID" thing. Is there something about him that makes him more susceptible to COVID than other prisoners? I'm not being cute. I didn't understand the request when R Kelly made it and I don't understand it now.
